The MASTER BEDROOM & FULL SIZE BATH are located on the FIRST FLOOR of the home -- making it great for seniors and multi-generations to enjoy at the same time. The cottage is just 3 miles from the Charlotte - Essex Ferry, as well as being just 50 minutes east of Lake Placid N.Y. & about 50 minutes west of Burlington, VT. Pick your day trip and you will find that you are well situated to enjoy a wide variety of fun things to do in both NY & VT. Of course, you could just as easily work from the house (if need be) with our high speed wifi. If you would like to vacation while you are working (on site) and benefit from being close to Burlington, VT, Lake Placid N.Y. and Montreal Canada ~ then this is the place for you! The FULL HOUSE is available for your visit. Local caretakers manage the property before your arrival and after your departure. This sparkling clean home will be ready & waiting for your arrival at 4:00 p.m. or later on your arrival date. The keys will be at the BACK DOOR of the home (in an envelope with your name on it). Please confirm to us once you have arrived at the home by texting us at the number that we pass to you, to let us know that you have arrived safe & sound! I can offer you excellent long distance support by text or telephone. Good advice via the WIFI that is at the home; or I can have a local neighbor / or caretaker stop by to give you any additional "in person" support that you may need during your stay in the area. The house is furnished with extensive maps for both NEW YORK & VERMONT, a complete notebook with the "best sites to see" in the area + restaurant information & all other details needed to make your stay in the area a good one! This small village has so many types of different geographical areas to take in -- a quick run down to the Willsboro Bay Point will show you many different luxurious summer vacation homes, sail boats & the beautiful surrounding bodies of water from LAKE CHAMPLAIN & the WILLSBORO BAY. The surrounding community of Willsboro is filled with friendly, humble & hard working North Country folk. They struggle through the long & cold winters, year in & year out because this is where their parents were born & raised and they love the ADIRONDACK COAST! The local folks aren't nosy or uppity; but at the same time, they don't mind to stop and help a stranger in need. The local people in this community always have my admiration. The town of Willsboro is just about one and a half hours north of Lake George and a little more than two hours north of Albany, N.Y. -- driving up the Northway (I-87), the cottage is just off of exit 32 or 33. From Montreal Canada, we are less than 2 hours south, coming down the I-87, you would get off at exit 33. The Amtrak train runs through Willsboro on its way to Montreal. You can board or be dropped off in Port Kent, as well as Westport N.Y. The CHARLOTTE - ESSEX ferry to Vermont runs on the 1/2 in the summer & hourly, in the winter. Please check schedules before setting out on your plans for the day. The GRAND ISLE - PLATTSBURGH ferry runs 24/7 from Cumberland Head N.Y. -- just north of Plattsburgh (exit 39 off the I-87). "Beau Overlook Cottage" recently had a new HEAT PUMP SYTEM / CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM installed. The state of the art temperature control system will provide fully regulated central air conditioning, humidity control and heat throughout the year. This town is not just about its logistics ~ this area is a haven for some of the most talented & hardworking young organic farmers to be found anywhere. Just down the road is the well known “ESSEX FARM” where Mark & Kristen Kimball host several farm to table suppers through-out the summer months. (Kristin is author of the best selling book about their organic farm experience, called “THE DIRTY LIFE”). This same farm has been a launching pad for other young organic super stars in the making ~ several of them are right in the village of Willsboro.
