Friendly and safe private apartment

Welcome! We are conveniently located, in a friendly and safe neighborhood with parking, and provide you with your own kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and porch. We are happy to have you as a guest! Highlights: -Good location- only a mile off the highway -Safe and quiet neighborhood -Entire listing to yourself -Self check in with contactless entry -10 min drive to hiking trail -Great restaurant/bar within walking distance (2 blocks) -5 min drive from casino, arena, restaurants, shopping This one bedroom apartment has a comfortable porch to relax on and enjoy morning coffee or a sunset. Wifi is available throughout the apartment. Kitchen is on the first floor and guests are able to use the oven, stovetop, microwave, refrigerator and grill outside. There will be breakfast bars and access to a Keurig coffee maker in the morning. All other food is supplied by guests. The bathroom is located on the first floor and has a shower and tub. The bedroom is large and located on the second floor. A single bed and futon are provided along with a recliner and a few small tables. There is also plenty of closet space. *Our comfortable, cozy futon is a full size. People who prefer a larger bed (queen, king) may not feel it's big enough to suit their needs. * There is a shared yard with a bench to enjoy the day. Guests can expect clean linens and fresh towels. There is no tv but there are a few board games available upon request. There is a small selection of books for you to enjoy as well. We do not have air conditioning but encourage you to open up the windows to enjoy the cross breezes. A fan is available. In Summer 2020 we added a ceiling fan to the bedroom. Working remotely? A desk is available for long term guests for your work at home needs. Please notify us if you would like this option. Please note that this charming old fashioned apartment has the original floors, which have a bit of wear and tear from through the years. Rest assured they are clean :) An air mattress is available upon request, but please be aware that then the sleeping space will be tight. We have gas heat in the apartment. Pets are not permitted. We do not allow smoking in the apartment but you are free to smoke on the porch and dispose of cigarette butts in container provided. Check in and out times can be flexible at times, depending on the arrival of other guests. Street parking is available and free of charge. Guests are able to access all of the space. We are available next door if you need anything. While there won't be any planned interaction, we are happy to help in any way! The historic Anthracite Cafe is a bar/restaurant within walking distance. In addition, there is also a grocery store, liquor/beer store, gas station within a few blocks. There is a bus stop approximately 1 block away. You can get around the area by car, bus, or taxi. Please use street parking. We do have Uber in Northeast PA as well. We are conveniently located in the Parsons section of Wilkes Barre in a safe and friendly neighborhood. We are approximately 3 minutes from Mohegan Sun casino, the mall and shopping area, Mohegan Sun Arena ( which hosts concerts, events, and the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins). Downtown Wilkes Barre, King's College, Wilkes University are moments away. We are very easily accessed from I-81 and I- 476. I-80 is 15-20 minutes away. The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton airport is about 15 minutes from us, as well as the Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre Railriders (farm team for the Yankees), skiing, hiking. Whitewater rafting and Historic Steamtown and other Scranton experiences are within 30 minutes.
