A lovely mountain breeze keeps the house nice and cool during most of the year. History on the home and builder: (Website hidden by Airbnb) (Website hidden by Airbnb) Visit the #2 must see region in the world in 2022 by Lonely Planet (Website hidden by Airbnb) Guests have access to the entire house minus posted signs for specific closets and the garage. I am available by phone throughout your stay. If you would like babysitter referrals or catering services, or tour guide services, please ask and I can give some recommendations. For long term rentals, I can also provide mid-week cleaning services for an additional fee. The neighborhood is unique because of the history, being in Terra Alta, spanish for "high ground", views are amazing, fall foliage is the most beautiful, winter is snow-filled, and spring/summer are full of beauty. There are 3 driveways at the home for plenty of parking. The town is small so there isn't a taxi service. A bus (Buckwheat Express) comes into town twice a day and goes to Kingwood and Morgantown. Uber may be available in the area as well. Having a vehicle is recommended although you can get from the house to the local convenient store, restaurant, fast food, and auction, by foot. - Weather, Roads, Train, Mountain allergens, and Cellular Reception. -The town of Terra Alta accumulates some of the largest snowfall in the state. If there is a winter weather advisory, be very cautious. - The home is right off of one of the main roads through town and there are two ways to get to the house from the main road. It is situated on a hill next to a white house which is next to the funeral home. - There is a train nearby that does pass 1-3 times a day depending on the day and time of the year. Often train cars are carrying WV coal which is kind of neat. - Dust. Due to the size of the home and it being in the mountains. Dust accumulates. We work hard to dust regularly but those with severe allergies to dust might find that mountains, environment, and home with all the wood work throughout, to be an issue. - WiFI. May not function at times due to high winds or bad weather. Only 1 provider in rural town which means it may not be the best however we do pay monthly for WiFi service and when it works well, we can stream videos via netflix and Hulu and YouTube. - Cell phone service. Depending on your provider, the region of Preston County has limited service due to the mountainous region. Some parts of the house might have better reception than others. - Pets. May be welcomed with prior approval and if approved, subject to a non-refundable $100 pet fee per stay.
