Well behaved, & groomed furry friends invited! We also have the capability to board up to two horses overnite - ask for details. We now have a back-up generator so no more power outages! Relax in comfort during a winter blizzard or a heatwave blackout in the summer! Excellent restaurants just 5 minutes away. Steak, seafood, Tex/Mex, Italian, and even homemade soups & sandwiches, ice cream & hot dog shops! Guests have total private access to the garage apartment including the full bath downstairs. You are welcome to walk anywhere on our property which is defined by physical fencing. Please do not go through or over any fences onto our neighbors' property. There is a fire-pit area ($20 additional fee for each nite you use the area) including chairs & a table for your use along with wood and a lot of extras) Star gazing is awesome on clear winter nights! Just let us know in advance and we will set it up for you to enjoy. No fires on windy nights. You may smoke anywhere outside - please do not throw cigarette butts on the ground and dispose of them properly. There is a designated & somewhat protected smoking area (please extinguish butts in sand can) outside the garage entrance door on the brick porch. Enjoy peace & quiet for relaxation or to put in a days work. Paved exterior parking available and we can accommodate box trucks & trailers. YOU MUST HAVE A VALID GOVT ISSUED ID REGISTERED WITH AIRBNB TO RENT THIS APARTMENT along with a profile photo clearly showing your face. If not, you will be declined until you do so. It is very simple & easy to do. We are just a text away and will respond to any questions or concerns promptly. We usually try to meet, greet, & get our guests settled in, but if not possible we have detailed check-in instructions available after you book your stay. Rockdale Road gets it's name from the limestone veins exposed above the ground and is some prime farm land. You may hear and see animals of all types, both domestic & wild. Deer are everywhere so be careful when driving. We have a fair amount of birds including lots of songbirds, owls, hawks and even resident bald eagles. We are early risers so don't be afraid to contact us early during the day if needed. Public transportation including cabs & buses, is non-existent. Uber is available, but we are in the country, so it would be expensive. Great restaurants are just 5 minutes away. Plenty of paved parking available at our residence. Bring your bicycles for riding on rural roads & the C&O Canal NHP towpath or the Western Maryland rail-trail. There is nothing within walking distance, but you can walk or jog on the rural roads, just be careful to do so facing traffic. Over 2 guests additional fee of $25/ea. We now have a backup generator (Generac) for the entire apartment. No power outages! Garage parking is not available for our guests, unless agreed upon in writing by the host. There are horses, ponies , donkeys in the fields surrounding our property (none on ours), including some sheep at a distance. Some of the fencing is electric so please be cautious when approaching any fencing or animals. Our dogs are well behaved for the most part and listen fairly well. Please DO NOT offer them food of any kind. You may see the cats which are indoor/outdoor, but they are usually shy. Deer & wild turkeys are seen and you should use caution when driving, especially just before, during and after darkness sets in. Enjoy listening to the "hoot owls" especially in the winter at dusk and before dawn if you are up and outside. And yes there are skunks around so be careful especially at night when wandering outside. We also have the capacity to over-nite board up to two horses - ask for details.
