Mill Creek Get-Away

Located along a year-round creek, within walking distance of downtown, restaurants, and shopping, but feels like out in the country. Private entrance, well-equipped kitchen, large family room, bedroom (queen bed), bathroom w/shower, and cozy patio. This apartment is the daylight basement of our home. It has a private entrance and is private from the rest of our home. It's large and roomy, and we've furnished it with comfortable country charm. Wood and tile floors throughout, except in the bedroom which is newly carpeted. The kitchen is equipped with dishes, cookware, several small appliances, cook top, microwave/convection oven, a refrigerator, and a few staples for cooking. There is no dishwasher, but paper plates can be used if you'd rather not wash dishes. The bedroom is large, and the queen bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is small, but functional, and you don't have to share it with anyone! The family room is large but cozy, and is equipped with a large-screen smart TV, with cable. Wi-fi is available. The futon sofa in the family room easily makes up into a full sized bed. There is also a queen-sized air mattress available. The yard is large and well-maintained, and the apartment has a brick patio from which to enjoy the scenery and the wildlife. Guests have access to the entire apartment, and the yard. We do have horses and goats on the property and ask that guests check with us before interacting with the animals. The apartment is very private. However, we love having guests and look forward to visiting with you if that is what you would like. We're happy to offer suggestions of things to do in the area, and answer any questions you have, but we're also happy to give you privacy to enjoy this nice quiet retreat on your own. We do live near other homes, but the back of our property opens onto a very private setting, with lots of trees and wildlife, including bald eagles and many other birds, deer, raccoons, squirrels, and even the occasional fox. From our place, you can walk to stores, parks, and the downtown area. We're pretty centrally located, so you can drive to any location in The Dalles in less than 15 minutes. We will provide a few choices for breakfast in the apartment kitchen, but it'll be up to you to fix what you choose. There are basic staples to make it easier if you decide to cook other meals here as well.
