The Garrison - Shabby Chic Ranch with River view

Along the river, The Garrison is best be described as decorated in a shabby sheek farmhouse style. Walking distance to Bear Mountain, views of the Bear Mountain Bridge and Hudson river. The home is great for hosting and a quick 1 hour drive from New York City. If you are looking for a place to "Work from Home" this is a great option, close enough to the city but drops you right into nature. Before booking, please be aware of our additional fees for guests over 4 to cover maintenance, cleaning and upkeep on the property. Up to 2 dogs are allowed for your stay, but we do charge a fee given additional cleaning and maintenance on the home. The Garrison is steps from Bear Mountain, Anthony's nose trailhead, and the Appalachian trail. We are minutes from West Point, Cold Spring, and the Manitou train station, which goes to and from NYC every hour. Other close attractions include Storm King and the vibrant town of Beacon. ------------- The house Nestled on top of a mountainside, the Garrison has direct views and access to the Hudson River and overlooks Bear Mountain Bridge. There are tons of activities right in our backyard including hiking, fishing, swimming, kayaking, snowshoeing, and more. If you’d prefer to stay at home you can relax in front of the fireplace, grill in the yard, watch TV, play Ping Pong, or chill with some board games. Two floors, three bedrooms—downstairs we have a full kitchen, living room with Sonos speakers, a dining room, and a working fireplace. One bedroom upstairs has a king size bed, one has a queen size bed and one has full-sized bunk beds, perfect for kids. (Or, honestly, even adults—the mattresses are very comfortable.) Guests will find the home stocked with all the necessary amenities including towels, linens, kitchen basics and toiletries. Please keep in mind we do not have a dishwasher, but there is ample space to clean and dry kitchenware. ------------ Infants Please understand that the house is not infant-proof. There are sharp edges, corners, and many other things that could be dangerous for an infant. If bringing an infant, you agree to take full responsibility and liability should anything happen. Guests will be able to access the entire space. We are always available via text, phone or the Airbnb app. Walk from the front door to the Appalachian Trail in under 10 minutes. Hike to Anthony's nose from the front door in under 10 minutes. Visit Bear Mountain, the zoo or the bridge within a 20-minute walk. West Point is a 15-minute drive. Storm King is a 20-minute drive. Dia: Beacon is a 20-minute drive. Breakneck Ridge is a 10-minute drive. Take a look at our guidebook for additional recommendations. Check out the Hudson line train schedule online! We are about a 20 minute walk from the Manitou station on the Hudson line. We recommend bringing a car, but a lot of activities are within walking distance to the house. Driving is recommended but additional guests can take the train from Penn Station to Manitou which leaves every hour. Please be advised that the train station is close-by, and you may hear the trains honk their horns periodically during your stay.
