Nettles Nest is a rustic cabin nestled in the piney woods of northeast Texas in the small town of Redwater, just outside of Texarkana. It is located on a 5 acre lake. It's a great place to unplug. No Wifi. Co fishing, swim, paddleboat, kayak, relax on the deck or under the pavilion. Make some memories! Good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families , and pets (up to 2 at no additional charge) . $30 fee after that, up to maximum of 4. No large groups. No parties. The cabin is one room with a kitchen area and bathroom. No Wifi or Satellite TV. So if you must have that, this isn't the place for you. It has an attached deck overlooking the lake. Kitchen is stocked with dishes, pots and pans, utensils, etc., as well as a Nu-Wave cooktop, microwave, toaster oven, blender, waffle iron, coffee maker, coffee, water and snacks. TV with Blue ray DVD player with lots of movies to choose from. Rod and reels, minnow bucket and a small ice chest are supplied so you can fish if you like. If you are a serious fisherman, you’ll probably want to bring your own gear. Life jackets provided but none for infants. A paddle boat & 2 kayaks are available for use. Texas state law requires children 12 and under to wear a life jacket whenever they are in a boat on the water. A gas grill and charcoal grill are on site. There's a fire ring for campfires and some firewood available. We also now have 3 mountain bikes for your use. These are not high end bikes tho. They’re just for casual rides. If you want to do some serious biking, you will probably want to bring your own bikes. There are a couple of short trails behind the cabin. A good place to walk your dog. You'll have the place to yourself. Only one cabin on site. If you'll be pulling a trailer, please let us know before you arrive. We have a different way to come in for you. I am available if you need anything. Just give me a call or text me. I often meet my guests when I’m out walking my dogs. But if you’d like to meet me or Mike, just let us know. Within a half mile of the cabin, you will find Spring Market (Brookshires) with gas and diesel, First Baptist Church, an Exxon convenience store with gas and diesel, Dollar General Store, a post office, and a bank. Also a pizza, chicken, sandwich, snow cone place within a half mile, and Cluck Wagon chicken and other things. We are located just 1/2 mile off of Hwy 67 S, just 13 miles from Texarkana, TX. Closest access to I-30 is 8 miles away. Exit 212, Spur 74. Our rate is $120. per night. Holiday rates are slightly more. This is for up to 4 people. Additional guests or day visitors MUST be approved by us IN ADVANCE and will increase the charges. No large groups. Texas Hotel Occupancy tax is 6% ($7.20) which will be added and collected by airbnb. We are pet friendly, but we need to know in advance if you’ll be bringing pets and how many. We allow up to 2 pets at no added charge. $30 additional pet fee for 1-2 more. Maximum total of 4 pets. We do not allow pets on the bed or futon. If you disregard this, you will be charged a cleaning fee.
