This is one of the bedrooms in my single family house. I have 3 bedrooms on the 2nd floor, and living and family rooms on the first floor. It is about 11' wide and 11' long. Some of the houses were built even later than that. Just tipical middle class families. Guests can call Uber or Lyft. Shared bathroom. Not much public transportation. Guests need a car to move a around.
