The Tiffany Blue Cottage at Lake Hopatcong

This is our cute cozy cottage at Lake Hopatcong. It’s our getaway vacation house from New York City. We love the lake view through our vintage window as well as from our big deck. This place is quite simple and newly renovated for our guests. We have reliable WiFi but there is no TV on-site so we would have more time to talk to each other, enjoy the fresh air and the nature view. This space is quite simple and lightly decorated. We like to keep it minimal and simple so we can focus on the chat, food and surrounding natures. We have a backyard for our dog to run around freely :) We do not stay here when there are guests but we are available via phone and messaging. Check-in is self-directed so timing is quite flexible. Mount Arlington is about 43 miles away from New York City. It’s about a one hour drive to Blue Mountain ski resort as well as the Poconos. While Mount Arlington is now mostly a suburban residential community, it was once a thriving resort community. In the era before the world wars and the advent of air travel, it was a welcome respite for the residents of nearby New York City and Newark. Every summer, thousands would arrive by train at Landing Station, and then travel by water taxi across Lake Hopatcong to the area's many large resort hotels to escape the city heat and enjoy the famous "Mount Arlington breeze" which always cooled the summer evenings. Within 10 minutes walk, you will see the beautiful "Castle on the Lake" in Mount Arlington. Within 15 minutes drive, you can get to our amazing state park with a nice beach there. Within 15 minutes drive, you can get some drinks and food at our favorite, super-friendly bar “Jefferson House” as well as the nearby Alice's or The Windlass with rocking cocktail booths. We ourselves have easily spent hours there just enjoying the live music and stunning lake views.
