Now partnering with Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort!! Book to receive a $10 lift ticket or $5 Nordic trail pass discount per guest per night.~*~ The bungalow was built in 1925 and miraculously the few previous owners retained all the original woodwork and features that give it character. The basement was remodeled into a living space in the early 2000s. I purchased the home in Fall 2016 and in doing so have welcomed the opportunity to continue to maintain and enhance this treasure of a historic house. To that end please pardon some of the "patina"...the home is a work in progress! The main bedroom has a double bed, the second bedroom has two twin beds, and there is a roll-away cot that is actually quite comfortable and can be set up in either the twin bedroom or the common area/living room. I’ve added a fully-functional kitchen to the laundry area, utilizing the original cupboards and other lumber found on the property. The recently updated patio area is a great place to hang out during warmer temperatures! Lots of garden veggies, berries, and fruit trees make it a healthy “snack bar”, too! The basement apartment has its own private entrance and a sliding door separates the guest area from the main floor to provide us both privacy. The entire basement is available to guests. As I'm very enthusiastic about La Grande and the Blue Mountains in general, I'd love to share my recommendations for meals, shops, local trails, etc. My bungalow is located in a historic part of downtown La Grande, in which the original charm and character of homes has been maintained. It's worth a stroll to take the architecture in. Spring Ave is a one-way street, so traffic is light. Most folks are interested in the downtown shops, restaurants, bakeries, and cafes. All are within a 5 min walk from the bungalow. Sadie, my small cocker spaniel mix companion, will likely announce your arrival if I am home, but quickly will expect a treat or play from you! I reside upstairs, so you will likely hear routine household noises (and vice versa).
