The Bank House

Come stay in the Old Maytown Bank. This half house, half bank was built in 1910. The bank side has been used as a residence since 1972 in one aspect or another. Recently remodeled for romantic get aways in this historic town. Enjoy outdoor activities, local music, the culinary experiences of this area, or relax inside with games and movies. The bank lobby has been converted to a living room with a place to kick your feet up and watch tv. We have converted the vault into a mini Museum. Our kitchen is small but has a two burner stove, toaster oven, and microwave so you can do most of your cooking that you were at home. A beautiful bath and laundry. Upstairs has a nice sitting area with great natural light to read a book. Enter through mahogany archways into the old conference room which has been converted to a romantic space to lay your head. You can park in the front of the house along the street and enter through the bank entrance. We have an August lock which allows you to unlock the door from your smart phone and camera outside of front door for security. We live in the other half of the house so we are available for any questions or need of recommendations you may have. If you would like us to tell you a little of the history of the bank just ask, I love to teach about the history and show off all the little details. 30 minutes away from Hershey Park , Harrisburg, and Lancaster City. Minutes away from Spooky Nook Sports and Historic Marietta & Mount Joy and Elizabethtown college. Enjoy Lancaster City which has been voted Top Coolest US Cities in 2018 and voted Top 14 US Cities to travel to in 2019. Enjoy fresh baked goods in throughout the Amish countryside and many antiques stores along the way. We 20 min away from Harrisburg International airport and only 10 min away from the local train station. You can best enjoy the country side and visit surrounding area by car but there are lots of hiking/biking trails near by.
