A Travelers Nest ~ Lake House

This Large 4 Bedroom 3 1/2 Bathroom Cottage is located in Toccoa, Georgia. The foothills of North East Georgia on Lake Hartwell. There are Many hiking trails; you are minutes from Toccoa Falls, and a short drive toTallulah Gorge/Falls and the entrance to the Appalachian Trail, 30 miles to Clemson University and other attractions such as Traveler's Rest, Currahee Mtn, Helen, the Alpine Village and a few Winery's. The Tanger Outlet Mall in Commerce is also a short drive from the Lake House. Our cozy Cottage has been updated with interior paint and expertly furnished with vintage, antique, and custom pieces. Guests will have full access to the entire cottage with ample parking, which includes 3 levels of togetherness. Entertain on a large shaded deck overlooking Lake Hartwell, there you'll find a quaint little sitting area, an outdoor patio table, chairs and a grill to enjoy outdoor dining. Indoors you will find a limited stocked kitchen, and all the comforts to make you feel like you are home, perfect for a family gathering or some quality time with friends. A queen size bed is on the first and second floor with 2 more bedrooms on the top floor with 2 full beds in one room and 4 twin beds in the second bedroom. Each bedroom is supplied with beautiful bedding, blankets, and pillows. On the first floor there is a second sitting room with a smart TV along with Video games, Movies, Cards and board games all for your use. For getting closer to nature we are directly on the lake and there is a path that meanders directly to the lake, although we do not provide boats or any water crafts you are welcome to bring your own Kayak or floats and spend the day playing on the river or launch your boat at the Stephens County boat launch less than 5 minutes from the Lake House. Other things to note: Best suited for children over 12 years of age who know how to swim. We have a gas grill on the main level deck for your use. Cell phone service is not great but does work. From our experience, Verizon works best. -There are 2 smart TV’s in common areas with apps such as netflix and hulu that are accessible with your Username and password. -The Lake levels are maintained by the Army Corp of Engineers. Depending on the month of the year/season, the lake may be at full pool or very low. Even when the levels are low we are situated right on the Tugaloo River. There are a few Small spaces that are locked off and not accessible. I am available through text or cell phone 24/7 Bob is our Property Manager and will be available when needed Self check-in Check yourself in with the smartlock. Ingles Supermarket is a short drive into town along with a Starbucks a few restaurants, bakery and quaint shops, and a short drive in every direction to other quaint towns, shops and restaurants There is a welcome center in town attached to the Amtrak Train station which will take you as far north as New York or as far south as New Orleans, Louisiana. A short walk around the block will lead you to the Cows and if your timing is right you might catch a glimpse of the train going by. We are 40 minutes (28.3 miles) to Clemson University Memorial Stadium . We are 70 minutes (52.5 miles) to University of Georgia, Athens. Sanford Stadium. We ask that you turn the gas off on the grill when you’re done and clean after every use. It is important to know that the house is on septic tank sewage.
