70's Contemporary in the Woods

Airy, open 70's contemporary in the woods. Rural location only 8 minutes from Saugerties Main Street. Views of woods from every window. Large farm-style dining table for big dinners and hanging out. Privacy on 5 acres of wooded property. Ski at nearby mountains, or hang out in Hudson Valley towns nearby. Hiking is plentiful in nearby Catskills. Wake up to views of the forest and country peace and quiet. The house sits at the edge of 5 acres of forest at the base of a hill. Right off highway 32 and convenient to Saugerties village and NYS Thruway. Rural, country house with modern stylings and convenience. If you'd like to bring a dog, please contact me. There is a $50 fee per dog which will be added after you confirm your reservation. There are two bedrooms upstairs, plus a fully enclosed sunroom on the main floor with a full sized futon which can be used as a third bedroom in the warmer months. Each of these rooms have AC and heat. There is also plenty of room to spread out in the living room. The sunken living room is spacious with a large sectional for watching movies and hanging out. Apple TV is provided for you to stream movies and TV shows. Strong wifi (Spectrum Cable 100mbps) and cell service out here. The home has a classic old wood burning stove to provide heat, and I provide firewood for you to keep the fire going and the space nice and cozy. There is also supplemental heat throughout all rooms of the house, but on the coldest days the wood stove is the best way to warm up the house. Outside, there's a fire pit to spend your evenings hanging out, plus the deck with a large dining table that seats six and gas bbq. The whole property extends back onto the mountain, and while it is available for taking walks, there is no trail up the mountain (yet), so please take care and hike the property at your own risk. The pond is on my neighbor's property, but you're welcome to walk over there and enjoy it. I live in Brooklyn but am available by phone or text at anytime. Small, private, 3-house road off of local Highway 32, 5 min to NYS Thruway. The neighbors are lovely but are far enough away that privacy is not an issue. It's a great blend of ease and convenience from highways and towns but affords rural privacy and peace of mind. Park on the property (past the gate) - public transportation will not get you here, a car is necessary. I hope you enjoy the house as much as I do, and would love your feedback on what could make your stay more comfortable. Note that if you are coming with a dog, I will charge an additional $50 one-time pet fee for cleaning after you book.
