SUNSET VIEW GUEST SUITE---SKI, HIKE, SEASONAL LAKE

SINGLE FAMILIES ONLY AT THIS TIME. Get away from the craziness & enjoy tranquility. Hang out on the deck & enjoy the great views from this cutely decorated guest suite below our vacation home. Watch the amazing sunsets & the stars at night. The open land behind our home is great for hiking with the kids in the summer/spring & snow sledding in the winter. Walking distance to the pond. Located halfway between Big Bear Lake & Lake Arrowhead. Come get away from it all. PET FRIENDLY/ 1 DOG ONLY "Live well, Laugh often, and Love with all your Heart" that is the motto of our guest suite. We are halfway between Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear Lake. On your way here you'll also cross over the bridge of our own seasonal lake The lake is full most months but dries up in the summer and doesn't come back until we get enough rain and snow. The guest suite is within walking distance to our seasonal lake and the backyard area is great for hiking for the little ones. The view off the deck will make you want to hang out there all day. Our home is a beautiful log home and is at the end of a street so we have open land behind our house for snowplay in the winter and hiking in the summer. Though you are in a neighborhood , there is a feeling of seclusion because of the open land around our place, not to mention that it makes for great views. But because we have open land around the guest suite and small animals live in that open land, we have mouse traps strategically located in the guest suite in case one of those small animals happens to make their way into the guest suite. Just be aware. You are in the mountains. There is one parking space for the guest suite. In the winter when there is snow on the ground it is the guests responsibility to pay for snow plowing. If you wish, we are happy to set up a company to come out and plow a place for you to park. We charge you only what the company charges us to plow. When you arrive at our vacation home you will go down a set of concrete steps and then across the main house deck to another set of wooden steps down to the guest suite. The guest suite is below the main house. In the winter and on holidays there will be guests in the main house above you. Because the guest suite is below our vacation home there can be some noise if there are guests staying above. There is a queen size bed in the bedroom and a queen size sofa bed in the living room. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, pots & pans and utensils. All you need to bring is your food and toiletries. (and clothes of course) There is cable TV in the living room with a DVD player. (Make sure that the cabinet drawer under the TV is open so that the remote can access the TV) There are books, games and puzzles and some DVD's to look through if you feel inclined. There is a wood burning stove in the living room so be sure to bring wood to burn if you plan on using it (make sure the flue is open) for those cold nights but we also have forced air heating. We try to leave you a basket of firewood if we can. We have a shower (sorry, no tub) in the bathroom. There is a dryer in a closet in the bedroom. The washer is not working and we will have to wait until after the snow is gone to have it repaired or replaced. We allow 1 well behaved dog. But we have some rules. Please do not leave your dog unattended in the guest suite. Some dogs do not do well in unfamiliar places. Please do not let your dog on the furniture. If your dog is used to sleeping with you on the bed , please bring a large blanket for them to sleep on. In wet or snowy conditions, please bring your own towel to wipe your dogs paws before entering the home. We love animals but must protect our investment. We charge a $25 pet fee to be paid on Airbnb before lockbox code is given . Thanks for understanding. The guest suite deck has adirondack chairs to take in the view . Did I mention the great view? Oh I guess I did but it's worth mentioning again. Wait till you see the sunsets! And on a clear night, you need to take a look at all the stars. Who knew there were so many. It's amazing!!! You will have access to all of the 1 bedroom guest suite below our vacation home. There is no inside access to the guest suite from the main home and you will have your own front door with it's own distinct key. There is a set of concrete steps down to the main house deck and then a set of wooden steps which take you down to the guest suite and deck. You will be walking across our vacation home deck to get to the guest suite and if there are guests in our vacation home , they may walk across your deck to get to the backyard area. It all works out. Most times we are not on site so please feel free to contact us by text or phone for any questions. We want your stay to be a wonderful experience. Our neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. We are 3 miles from Snow Valley skiing and about 25 minutes to Big Bear skiing. We are about 15 minutes from Sky Park/Santa's Village. We are within walking distance to Arrowbear Lake (Our seasonal pond) where kids can fish, feed the ducks and skip rocks across the top of the water. (Let's get them away from the TV and video games for a while.) The lake usually dries up sometime in July and comes back with the rain and snow. We are about 10 minutes from Green Valley Lake where you can fish in a stocked pond or swim in the lake. (fees apply) We are halfway between Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear Lake. Both of these towns are about 25 minutes away(without traffic) in opposite directions. You can enjoy either of these towns during the day and retreat back to your quiet getaway in our guest suite at night. Since we are at the end of the street there is open land behind our home. When there is snow, we provide sleds for snow play in your own winter wonderland in the back of the house. We have our own neighborhood baseball field and kids park, all within walking distance from our place and the town of Running Springs is close by. If we have had a good winter and the lake is full, they stock the lake and have a fishing contest for the kids . The sunsets are gorgeous from the deck and on a clear night you need to go outside and look at the stars. Something that you can't see too well in the city lights. Amazing!! Snow Valley Skiing and snow tubing park is only 3 miles away and Blonde's Bar and Grille (which seems to be a favorite of our guests) is within walking distance. You will see it when you turn on Arrowbear drive from Highway 18. In the summer there are FREE concerts in Lake Arrowhead every Friday and Saturday night from May through September and Octoberfest of course in the month of October. We enjoy going. It's a lot of fun! I think that you would enjoy it too! (folding chairs to take to the concerts are in the bedroom closet) We have 3 parking spaces . One in front of the house and two to the right of the house. THE PARKING SPACE IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE IS FOR YOU. The two parking spaces to the right of our home are for our main house guests. (if we have any) Our home is about 5 minutes from the small town of Running Springs which has shops and a Jensens market if you need any quick groceries. (it's a little more expensive). To do your big shopping there is a Stater Bros in Lake Arrowhead and a Stater Bros and a Vons in Big Bear. Both of these towns also have shops, a Movie Theater and of course a lake. There are many hiking trails in the mountains so be sure to check out "San Bernardino mountain hiking trails" to see what is around. Lake Gregory is about 30 minutes from us and is a fishing lake with a swimming area with a water slide. (there is a cost to enter the swimming area) Also for the young fishermen and women there is Green Valley Lake which is about 10 minutes from us (towards Big Bear)which stocks the lake so the kids are sure to catch a fish. (there is also a charge). We are located about 3 miles from Snow Valley Skiing which is a less crowded skiing area. There is a 2 night minimum. There are occasionally times when there will be guests in the vacation home above. This is usually in the winter months or on holidays. Please be aware that there can be some noise from the main home above if we have guests who are staying there. Some guests state that they can hear the footsteps and talking from above. The guest suite is attached to the main home but completely separate as far as being able to enter and has its own deck with outdoor furniture. There is one parking space for you and it is right in front of the home. If you are in need of more parking space be sure to let us know. There are concrete steps down to the main home and then another set of wooden steps down to the guest suite. Because of that, it feels very private and has that great view that I keep talking about. We are PET FRIENDLY in the guest suite. We love animals but must protect our investment so no animals on the furniture. If your dog is used to sleeping on the bed with you, please bring a large blanket for them to sleep on. Please do not leave your dog unattended at the Lake House. Some dogs do not do well when left in unfamiliar places. We have had problems in the past with chewing the furniture and scratching on the door. Also in rainy and snowy conditions, please bring your own towel to wipe the paws of your dog before entering the guest suite. We have a STRICT NO SMOKING POLICY. THAT MEANS CIGARETTES AND MARIJUANA. My husband is allergic. If we smell cigarettes or marijuana in the guest suite, you will be charged for carpet cleaning and cleaning of walls. Thanks for understanding
