Elegant Farmhouse with Pool in Countryside

Retreat to the countryside at this beautiful farmhouse. The homestead was established in the mid-nineteenth century and lovingly renovated featuring an in-ground pool, chef's kitchen, expansive fireplace, and unique furnishings for a luxurious yet cozy feel. Enjoy the seclusion while relaxing at the pool, enjoying a fire at one of the patios or sipping wine on the front porch. Located just a 30 minute drive south from the Twin Cities, the property is your sanctuary away from home. We've enjoyed this home for over 26 years, making lifelong memories with family and friends. Now that we're empty nesters, we're ready to share it with you and yours. Upon arrival, relax from the shaded back patio, lounge on the pool deck, or take in the sunset from the front porch. The property is private but luxurious and peaceful. The home has something to offer for everyone. As you enter the home, you are welcomed by one-of-a-kind furnishings and décor. The main level features a chef's kitchen and an antique dining table with banquette seating in front of the windows. There's additional bar-height counter seating overlooking the kitchen. Step down to the family room and relax next to the fire on the luxurious couch with a book or movie. Head outside to the back patio for grilling and s'mores or move on to the wine room and enjoy the evening in candle-lit ambience. You will also find a large formal dining and living room and powder room. The first floor has plenty of space for gathering your group for dinner, fire, movies or games. Head up the front stairs to the second floor, and you will find several bedrooms with luxurious linens to retreat to. The office bedroom has a twin trundle that pulls out to a king-sized bed. The master has a king-sized bed and full bath. Head up a couple stairs to the main bedroom corridor. The south-facing bedroom has a king -bed, the west-facing bedroom has a double bed, and this corridor has a full-size bathroom with shower and separate claw-foot tub. Continue to the third floor where you will find a queen-sized bed in one room, and two double-sized beds in the second room. There is a full bath on this floor. Overall, the house has beds for 14, plus two couches offered as additional sleeping arrangements. Guests have full access to the whole house and all the amenities. The host will greet guests upon arrival. While you may be coming to escape the hustle and bustle, Castle Rock / Northfield area and surrounding Dakota County has more to do than you can imagine. Family activities including nature walks, golfing, frolfing, apple picking, pizza farms and exploring our small towns are just a few. The property is 30 minutes from MSP and the Twin Cities and only 15 minutes away from Northfield, located in the countryside of Castle Rock. Surrounded by nature, our nearest neighbor is .5 miles away. Our home is guaranteed to be a quiet and relaxing oasis. The nearest grocery store is 15 minutes from the house, but we recommend HyVee delivery if want to plan on spending as much time at the house as possible. Check out our guidebook for a full list of restaurants, parks and nearby attractions. There isn't public transportation outside the front door, so arriving by car is recommended. The nearest bus hub is a 10 minute drive from the house. Uber/Lyft will be able to drop you off at the house, but it may be difficult to request a driver from the house. Host can arrange private transportation at an additional cost and can recommend taxi services in the area.
