After check-in take the wooden spiral staircase to your room. The Mae West Room is decorated in that of the 1860s era. There is an exclusive, large private bath with shower and a separate garden tub. The room has a queen bed, a table with a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker (cups and glassware available). You have access to Wi-fi and a smart TV. Extra bed available. Small pets allowed $10.00/day. Maximum 4 adults. The Valley Lodge is a refurbished circa 1863 Adobe style Boarding House/Hotel. Your proprietor is a Tularosa native born and archeologist. Joe Ben excavated the property and you will find artifacts he found under the floors. Be sure to ask about our hiking tours of Three Rivers, The Historical District of Tularosa and The Tularosa Basin. After sharing a full breakfast, don't leave the Valley Lodge without visiting our new Bookstore of local history and southwestern fiction. The Valley Lodge is a very beautiful and elegant lodging with new hard wood floors and traditional Viga ceilings for you to enjoy. Hope to see you soon. Parking is on the property and guests enter through the courtyard of the lodge and have limited access to the lodge as Joe Ben lives on site. Joe Ben Sanders is the proprietor. He and Debbie are more than happy to recommend places to visit. Joe Ben is an archaeologist and historian of this area. He has great stories of the people and the townships history. The Village of Tularosa has a friendly, small, hometown atmosphere. Many of the residents of Tularosa are descendants which date back to the original early settlers from the 1860s. The Village of Tularosa is centered in the homelands of the Mescalero Apache Tribe. To the northeast you can see the Sacramento Mt. Range which houses the Lincoln National Forest. To the west lies the White Sands Missal Range and home to the Stealth Fighter Wing at Holloman AFB. Ask Joe Ben about his tours. You can walk a short distance to local eateries and visit our local hamburger and ice cream parlor. Z trans is available for bus service to Ruidoso, Mescalero, and Alamogordo. A short drive north on Hwy 54 don't miss visiting the Tularosa Vineyard and Winery. The Village of Tularosa has a friendly, small, hometown atmosphere.
