Amenities: Saltwater pool (seasonal), chefs kitchen, new beds, sheets + pillows, fire pit (2), indoor fire place, record player + 300 records, Sonos system throughout home, 55" TV w/ AppleTV, Netflix, HBO, Nintendo 64, Wii. Welcome to "The Pines" a unique and charming 3 bedroom 2 bath 'Cabin Chic' style Upstate New York getaway with inground slate and gunite saltwater pool on 3 fully landscaped and fenced in acres. (Pool open Memorial Day through Oct 15) Just about two hours (100 miles) from New York City and within driving distance of several charming Upstate New York towns like: Stone Ridge, Woodstock, Kingston, High Falls, Rosendale, and New Paltz. The home is very open and bright with lofted wood ceilings and exposed beams over rustic wide plank hardwood floors. The great room on the main floor is expansive and open - with a dining area on one end a music room and seating area on the other end. The centerpiece is a beautiful 10 person reclaimed barn wood farm table w/ custom hand crafted benches - great for entertaining, playing games, or working on a project. Open to the dining room is a fully equipped kitchen w/ professional grade appliances and supplies with enough silverware and flatware to serve 10 guests. Surrounding the main floor is an elevated 180 degree outdoor wooden deck with views of the pool and pond - and seating for 6. On the ground level is an expansive wooden deck bordering a fully landscaped pond with 8 person outdoor dining table with umbrella and 3 burner propane grill w/ grilling utensils. In addition our main deck has an 8 person outdoor sectional sofa with coffee table for working, reading, or just relaxing outside near the pond. Opening onto the main deck is the ground floor family room with sectional sofa bed (comfy), JBL Metregon soundsystem, record player + 300 records, 55" TV w/ AppleTV + Nintendo 64 + Wii, wood burning stove, and over a dozen board games (Catan, Monopoly, Risk, Cards against humanity, etc) There are 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths: Each bedroom has a queen bed, and there is also a queen sleeper sofa. The bedrooms come fully equipped with comfy sheets, pillows, and comforters and all the mattresses are new and very lightly used. The bathrooms will have all your essentials - shampoo, soap, hair dryer, and assorted toiletries. Linens and beach towels are included. In addition to the main cabin, guests will have full access to the full 3 acre property, which includes: Inground slate and gunite saltwater pool with lounge chairs and beach towels available for guests. Fire pit w/ plenty of sticks on the property to collect and roast marshmallows for S'mores. Several open areas to lay out a picnic blanket and just relax. We are reachable anytime during your stay via text, cell, or e-mail (although text is preferred). We live in New York City so we will not be present at check in and check out. The home is nestled on a private road off of New York State Route 213 in the heart of Ulster County just south of the Ashokan Reservoir. The main attraction of the neighborhood is the property itself - 3 acres of private landscaped gardens to enjoy and escape from the hustle and bustle of The City. There are several fantastic towns and attractions between a 5 and 30 minute drive away, including: 7 Minutes: Stone Ridge - a charming historic hamlet. 10 Minutes: High Falls - Funky small town on the banks of the Esopus river. 20 Minutes: Kingston - Once the capitol city of New York State, historic Kingston is the closest major city. 25 Minutes: Woodstock. This town is famous for hosting the Music Festival that shares it's name and has wonderful shops and restaurants. 30 Minutes: Phoenicia - This quaint mountain town has a lot to offer - including tubing down the river and picturesque views. We have plenty of parking on the property - enough for 4-6 vehicles, however you need a car - or minimally a bike - to get around up here. This is the country! There are several public transit options to get here from the city, but the easiest is to take the Trailways bus from Penn Station to Kingston - from there it's just a 20 minute cab ride to the property. For those who don't love the bus: take the Amtrak train to either Rhinecliff / Kingston but those options are more expensive and the cab ride from the station a little longer. Please share your experience with us and other members of The Pines community! If you and your guests share your experience with our hashtag and username you will get 10% off your next stay.
