The Cottonwoods

Ten minutes from downtown La Grande, five minutes to Island City in the scenic rural Grande Ronde valley of Northeast Oregon. The "Cottonwoods" is a lovely 2 bedroom small house with full kitchen and bath. Located on a working farm of goats, three horses, chickens and friends with garden, orchard, and mountain views. Wallowa Mountains, Eagle Cap Wilderness, Hells Canyon, Anthony Lake, Joseph Oregon, Walla Walla Washington and more within easy driving distance for beautiful excursions. Our guests have access to all parts of the cottage, porch, yard and barbecue area. We encourage guests to explore the property containing an orchard, vegetable garden, pasture apiary, horses, chickens and goats. We would gladly provide a guided tour! We like to meet all of our guests at some point in their stay and are available to offer help of all sorts at any time. Our neighborhood is considered rural upscale farmland. Our neighbors are professional farmers, retired teachers and entrepreneurs. There are valley views in all directions yet the nearest grocery store is only 2 miles away. The city center of La Grande is less than a 9 minute drive while exploration of the beautiful Grande Ronde Valley is mere moments away. Well-behaved pets are allowed for a fee of $15 per night with 2 pets maximum. Please pay using cash or (Hidden by Airbnb) at the time of your visit. While outside, pets must be accompanied by the owner and on a leash at all times. Pets are not allowed to stay in the house alone at any time. Please talk with us about your situation and options if you’d like them to be able to run. Introduction of pets with our animals shall be done in a controlled and responsible way while on leash. Owner is required to pick up and dispose of all pet deposits in outdoor trash cans. Bags and poop picker-uppers are provided. A plastic dog dish is provided for use if needed. Please don’t use kitchen dishes for feeding or watering your pet. We’d be glad to offer additional pet dishes if necessary. Please don’t let your pet up on the furniture. We can provide a pet bed if needed. Cleaning materials such as towels, rags, and cleaner spray is available in a dog bag in the closet. Please use these or paper towels for drying your pet or cleaning messes instead of household linens. Feel free to ask us if anything else might be required. Finally, we would appreciate knowing if there have been any accidents in the house so we can more thoroughly clean these locations before our next guests arrive and to avoid repeat users.
