Summary: Trails End Modern introduces sleek, modern architecture to the rustic and magical Pioneertown - Pipes Canyon area of the High Desert. It’s the perfect desert escape for couples, friends, or families. Highlights include: ★ 11 acres of natural landscape with ancient Piñon, Juniper and Joshua trees ★ 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (with outdoor showers!) ★ Full kitchen + dining area ★ Jacuzzi hot tub and steel cowboy tub nestled in the rocks ★ Built-in propane BBQ + fire pit ★ 6-minute drive from Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown ★ Professionally hosted by Homestead Modern™ ** Cleaning Protocols *** As the only professional management company in the area, we have always maintained exceptional cleaning standards. We pay above the living wage standards; 100% of your cleaning fee is paid to the cleaners (i.e. no profit to us) and we insist on a professional level of cleaning between guests. We love the High Desert for a lot of reasons - including the open spaces, lack of crowds, and dry weather that we believe make it a safe place to visit. The Space: Nestled on an 11-acre parcel of land, this modern glass and steel home is the perfect place to enjoy that “away from it all” feeling. The property is sprinkled with weathered boulders, ancient Piñon, Juniper and Desert Oak — along with several Joshua trees. It’s also just a short drive from Pioneertown, Yucca Valley, and downtown Joshua Tree. “This is the ideal getaway for someone looking to get out of the city and experience all that nature has to offer. The big sky views are *incredible* and the numerous spots to enjoy them -- the hot tub, fire pit or comfy deck chairs -- are perfect.” -Recent Review -BEDS & BATHS- Trails End Modern can comfortably sleep up to four guests in two bedrooms, making it ideal for couples or friends. Both bedrooms feature king-size beds and private patios accessible via sliding glass doors. The kitchen and living area sits between the bedrooms, ensuring maximum privacy. The house has two bathrooms: one en-suite in the master bedroom and the other adjacent to the second bedroom. Each bathroom also offers a door out to a private outdoor shower - a must-try desert experience! -KITCHEN & DINING- When it’s time to cook, Trails End Modern’s sleek kitchen has everything your inner chef desires, including spacious countertops and cookware. Appliances include a gas stove, oven, fridge, freezer (with ice maker), microwave, and dishwasher, and the custom cabinets are stocked with dishes and glasses. You’ll find a blender, a drip coffee maker, and a French press ready for your breakfast routine. Dine in style at the dining table, which seats four, or pull up a stool at the breakfast bar. But for a truly wow-worthy dining experience, bring your meal outside to the outdoor table, which has chairs for six and awe-inspiring views. -LIVING SPACE- The kitchen opens up to the roomy living area, which features contemporary decor and a colorful artwork. You’ll want to kick back and relax on the large sectional sofa - especially after a long hike! The media center features a flat-screen TV that includes a Roku streaming device as well as a Sonos sound bar. Like in the rest of the house, the generous windows flood the room with light and incredible views. “This was a great place. Very comfortable and very stylish. Kitchen was great and furnished with everything we needed to cook great meals. We loved the fire pit, the grill and the hot tub too.” -Recent Review -OUTDOOR SPACE- On the back patio, you’ll find a large built-in propane barbecue with ample countertop space. A built-in cushioned seating area beckons daytime or nighttime lounging and conversation. Just steps away is a propane fire feature with four low chairs that invite visitors to draw close to the flame on cool evenings. Who’s in the mood for s’mores? Nestled in a jumble of nearby weathered boulders is an area devoted to a top-of-the-line Jacuzzi-brand hot tub — along with an adjacent galvanized stock tank that has been repurposed as a “cowboy” tub for cool dips in warm weather. Two sleek modern chaise lounge chairs complete this outdoor “room.” -ESSENTIALS- Parking is available for two vehicles in the driveway. Trails End Modern has WiFi (satellite internet), heating, and air conditioning. Please contact us if you have any questions about the home or the area in general. We hope to welcome you soon!P Guest Access: You will have the entire house and property to yourself. If you need more space, across the road is another Homestead Modern managed property called Pioneer Rockstar: https://airbnb.com/h/pioneertownrockstar The Neighborhood: Pipes Canyon is one of the most sought-after locations in the High Desert. It’s close to everything – and yet very much set apart with next to no light or noise pollution. The area is surrounded by dramatic flat-top lava buttes, towering and weathered boulders, and an abundance of Joshua trees. Pipes Canyon is immediately adjacent to the Sand to Snow National Monument as well as the Pioneertown Mountains Preserve, both offering endless hiking and exploring opportunities, and the West Entrance of Joshua Tree National Park is about 30 minutes away by car. Although you may be tempted to spend your whole trip exploring Pipes Canyon, many more area highlights are accessible within a short drive: • Pioneertown (10-minute drive) - Put on your ten-gallon hat and stroll down Mane Street of this Wild West-inspired town, also known for Pappy & Harriet’s, a notable restaurant and venue. • Yucca Valley (20-minute drive) - Convenient stop for chain stores and local eateries, like Carla's Route 62 Diner and C & S Coffee Shop • Joshua Tree Village (20-minute drive) - Quirky strip of boutiques and restaurants, including Coyote Corner, Space Cowboy Books, and the rustic Joshua Tree Saloon • Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum (20-minute drive) - As far from a stuffy gallery as you can imagine, this outdoor sculpture garden contains a unique collection of folk-art. • The Integratron (20-minute drive) - New age-y healing destination with a sound bath, originally designed by ufologist George Van Tassel with the goal of reversing the aging process. • Palm Springs (45-minute drive) - Artsy town known for vintage shopping, art galleries, and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. • Mt. San Jacinto State Park (90-minute drive) - Expansive, hilly landscape with foot and horseback trails surrounding 10,834-foot Mount San Jacinto. Of course, let’s not forget about the essentials. Everything you need is within about 15 minutes by car: • Closest supermarket: Vons • Closest liquor store: Yucca Valley Liquor • Closest pharmacy: Rite Aid Pharmacy • Closest bank: Wells Fargo Bank • Closest gas station: Sinclair Getting Around: While we are off a paved road, many roads in the High Desert are dirt, so please take it slow. While a car is required to get around, a four wheel drive car is not, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain. Other Things to Note: • EVENTS & COMMERCIAL PHOTOSHOOTS: Are not permitted without prior approval, applicable permit and additional fees. • DOGS: Dogs are welcome and there is a one time fee of $60. • SOCIAL MEDIA: If you plan on sharing your experience on social media, please mention us! • CELL SERVICE: Cell phone service availability and quality in the High Desert varies by service provider. This is particularly true in the more remote areas of Joshua Tree, Pipes Canyon, and Pioneertown. Please be prepared by enabling wifi calling or downloading a VOIP program. • ROAD CONDITIONS: Many roads are dirt, so please take it slow. A four wheel drive car is not required, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain • CO-HOSTED BY HOMESTEAD MODERN Interaction with Guests: Our property manager, Homestead Modern, is local and has staff available at all times.
