A note on cleaning score: after frustrations with a number of local cleaners, I have since hired an Airbnb-experienced regional cleaning team with a strong record on other listings. This quiet country retreat is located just 7 minutes from the nearest bus to NYC (1 hour), 15 minutes from Woodbury Commons, 15 minutes from Harriman State Park, 20 minutes from West Point. Our home has a 2-car garage as well as a large driveway with a full basketball court. The house includes a fully equipped kitchen, two large dining tables that can seat 14 people, a porch that makes outside dining easy and convenient, a large yard for relaxing sun bathing, as well as fast wifi and free Netflix. The house is located in a quiet, scenic, and secluded area -- although we are just 7 minutes by car from three towns with everything you could need for your stay. Each town has its own historic touch -- just ask for things to do and see. It's ideal to have a car to get around, although the house is just 7 minutes from the nearest bus stop to NYC (the bus ride takes 1 hour) and Uber is available locally. While we do have Netflix and a DVD player, there is no cable TV. There is a HDMI cord to connect your personal laptop to the TV, so you can easily play whatever programming you'd like.
