Independence House
This c. 1900 vacation home in the burgeoning arts district of Berkeley Springs. Guests receive one $5 credit for each night booked at the Lighthouse Latte Cafe across the street, use one at a time or all in one visit. We offer zonal climate control in the bedrooms for a comfortable stay and internet TV. The town is very walkable from our front porch and stop at a variety of shops, spas, art galleries, and restaurants! Organic coffee & tea provided. Guests love to park here and walk all over town. Our driveway can accommodate up to three cars--additional vehicles will need parking instructions. The three zonal climate controlled bedrooms and a bathroom are all located upstairs. The second bathroom is downstairs (off the kitchen) and has a shower only--no tub. The kitchen is modestly well-appointed, and you are welcome to cook meals. We use non-toxic, natural cleaning products throughout the home. We are also kid-friendly, and provide a pac-n-play, a baby gate, small chairs and a table, a single rollaway bed suitable for a child or small adult. We provide internet TV, blue tooth speaker, an old fashioned record player. and white noise machines in all the bedrooms. The sunroom off the kitchen is a favorite hangout for reading or napping. We are dog-friendly on a case-by-case basis, and have a fenced yard + rules for pets indoors. We add a $35 convenience fee each pets per stay payable upon checkout by check or cash, regardless of length of stay, and provide a Puppy Pack for each dog. Come enjoy the historic Independence House and a slower pace of living! The entire home including sunroom, porch, courtyard, and backyard are currently available for guest use. We made Superhost in our first quarter in 2019. Please let us know what amenities you would like to see in the future! I am available by phone to answer any questions you may have and live very close by and would be happy to come to the house if you need any assistance. We love our neighbors at the coffee house & cafe across the street. You will receive a $5 daily credit there for the mornings it is open. Walking to the Ice House for art exhibits and events is a breeze--no need to bring your car or look for parking when you desire to stay within Town limits. This sweet place is perfectly poised on the edge of the action--meaning you can still unwind when you get home. The fenced yard, sun room, and porches come in very handy, as well! Parking is limited in Berkeley Springs, so having a space this close to everything is a plus. I recommend walking from the house down Green St. for a quieter experience away from the traffic, or follow the direction of Warm Springs Run. There are no taxi or Uber services in Berkeley Springs. The house has a dedicated parking spot in front, and two cars can park nose-to-tail. Parking a third car next to the driveway on the grass is an option if you let us know in advance. Everywhere in the Town limits is very walkable from our place. Enjoy getting to know this special place.
