VIP Guest Room @ the Dome Asylum
Come stay at the Dome Asylum hippie homestead. The Dome Asylum is a geodesic dome built in 1986. It’s natural landscaping, beautiful cacti, and remote location make it stand out, not just as a place to stay, but a place to retreat. In addition to the fruit trees and aquaponic garden, the property features several cactus gardens, a meditation trail, and a natural pool. The Dome Asylum is convenient to local hiking, Ramona wineries and historic Julian. The VIP Guest Room has a locking door, detached private bath and a view of the front cactus garden. Guests will have access to the shared living/dining room, patio and grounds. We work from home, so we're generally around to answer questions and are happy to share some food, drink or stories at the end of the day. We live on a dirt road in a rural neighborhood zoned for agriculture. You may hear roosters, dogs, coyotes, hawks, owls, as well as small farm equipment. We are just a mile from Old Town Ramona's Main St. Parking in the driveway is preferable and street parking is also an option. Please be considerate of our neighbors and drive slowly (10mph) on the unpaved roads to avoid kicking up dust. The Dome Asylum is focused on sustainability. Indeed, we see the property as our own little, just-over-an-acre, eco-park. The plants and fish in the pool are just one of the many pleasant discoveries you will encounter during your stay. We also have a pellet stove for the unusual chilly evenings. Not quite a fireplace, but still charming and warm!
