Beautiful 1794 cottage captures charm of past with all modern amenities! Just steps from shops, restaurants, and park, cottage backs to North East Creek where heron and fish abound! A perfect getaway as you explore all the Chesapeake has to offer! With a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room and powder room on the first floor, you'll feel right at home! Front and back porches provide great views of the gardens and plenty of space to just relax. Both bedrooms and a shower bath are located on the second floor where the master bedroom has a queen size bed and the guest room has two twin beds accommodating four people. (See note re 2nd floor bath). For your convenience, there is cable and internet service, and a laundry upstairs where you can access the original back staircase winding down to the kitchen! In addition to the front and back porches, the home's lovely gardens can be viewed from a second floor balcony. Guests are also invited to enjoy sitting out on the water - whether to relax, enjoy the wildlife, or fish in the tidal creek. Access is provided from the host's home, only two doors away from the cottage. Your hosts live only two doors away and will be happy to share information about the area's many attractions and restaurants. We also welcome you to share our Adirondack chairs down on the creek! In the midst of a renaissance, the quaint town of North East, once a fishing village, offers something for everyone - charming shops, restaurants, a waterfront park where you can fish, enjoy a picnic or put in your kayak! Within a few minutes drive, you can be golfing, or enjoying Elk Neck State Park where one can hike, swim, boat or walk out to the Turkey Point Lighthouse which sits on bluffs 100 feet above the water, offering spectacular views of the Chesapeake Bay and the five rivers feeding into it. Ideally situated, the town of North East is midway between Baltimore and Philadelphia and only two miles off of Interstate 95. Biking along country roads or on trails is plentiful, and there are several marinas to accommodate pleasure boats. Turkey Point State Park, the historic towns along the northern Chesapeake Bay and C&D Canal, Fair Hill Nature Preserve, Cecil Community College, the University of Delaware, and many points of interest are only a short car ride away. PARKING: A parking space is designated for guest's use a few steps away at the host's residence. Parking is also available on the street in front of the house. BATHROOM Access: The shower bath on the second floor can be readily accessed from the laundry room, just behind the Master Bedroom. From the second bedroom, guests may elect to use either the first floor powder room, or access the shower bathroom from the back stairway or by going through the master bedroom.
