I could tell it was going to be a large stylish house that was within walking distance to some great restaurants and generally a nice place for a few close friends and I to spend a couple days together. But this house was so much more! The whole house is a work of art. The attention to detail that Wendy put into curating an enjoyable and immersive Mid-century experience is unbelievable. As soon as I walked in, I felt like I was walking onto the set for a movie about the coolest 60s party in the Hollywood hills. Or maybe like a museum except you actually get to touch and enjoy everything. Each new room I would walk in had this authentic vibe that was so strong I could let go and it would transport me into that period. (Granted I was born in the 80s so who am I to say how authentic it is but I can say it captures the groovy feel of every movie or TV show I’ve ever seen about the era.) I got to be in that movie and it was starring me and my wife and friends. If you’re interested in staying here, I highly recommend putting on a playlist of your favorite music from the 60s and 70s and letting it play for your whole visit as you enjoy the space . And please please please take care of this house because it is a gem that can’t be replaced at IKEA. I recognize that it probably sounds like I’m going so over the top that I must be a friend of Wendy’s or something but I promise I’d never met her before and I wasn’t paid or anything for this ridiculous gushing. I just feel so lucky that I got to experience the little world that was created here and I want to come back again so don’t mess it up for me!”
