Elk Lake Estate -private waterfront- June 12-17, 2022 just opened!

Gather your family and friends for a special weekend this spring or fall, grab June 12-17 or that last week of August, it’s time to have that post pandemic celebration! Plan a getaway, enjoy your friends and family in privacy. Hike Vasa trails, walk the beaches on Grand Traverse Bay, enjoy a bonfire, Shanty Creek and Holiday Hills are each 20-30 minutes away. June 12-17 and last week of August are open! Room for a large group of people to have quality time together with 200 feet of Elk Lake private frontage. Elk Lake is a glacier lake with a sandy bottom. It's a clear, turquoise lake connected to Torch Lake by Torch River and Lake Skegemog. The Chain of Lakes is well known. The wineries of Old Mission Peninsula are only 25 minutes away - plan a wine tasting weekend. 10+ wineries to visit. A winery tour bus can pick you up at the house, ask for the contact info. I recommend Blue Lakes by the Bay. We are perfectly located for golf weekends - several courses are within 15 minutes of the lake house. Agaming, Lochenheath and Grand Traverse Resort courses to name a few. Shanty Creek and Holiday Hills are 25 minutes away (in opposite directions) for great skiing and snowboarding, they both have tubing hills, too! Come enjoy perfect lakefront living! Spacious 5000 sqft home with 200ft of frontage on beautiful Elk Lake for up to 22 guests (18 adults). Six bedrooms, 14 beds, five bathrooms, and a shower room. Two kitchens, dining areas seat 20+ and multiple living areas throughout the house, plus a game room. There are 7 smart TVs. The upper living room has a cable box for live viewing. Large lake front deck with seating areas accommodating 20+ people and a patio below with lounge seating and dining seating for 20+. Ample outdoor furniture to enjoy the fire pit (firewood provided) with 6 polywood Adirondacks and 2 8’ benches, plus 4 lounge chairs on the dock. Gas grill is on the patio, propane tank is provided. Plenty of room outside for playing, many outdoor games, a sand volleyball court, and children's play structure. From May to October a large dock with boat lift, pontoon lift and wave runner lifts, 2 canoes, plus 6 kayaks with paddles will meet all your water sport needs. There is a large swim raft about 200 feet off shore June to September. Our lake has a sandy bottom, no muck here! Six Bedrooms: Each bedroom has a theme! The master is called the Captains Quarters, it has a king bed and sitting area with twin daybed with twin trundle, walk in closet and large custom bath with waterfall shower and jacuzzi tub. The Elk room has a king bed and private bath. Walls are painted with shadow elk. The Fish room and The Boat room each have a Queen size bed, they share a bath. The Bear Cave has a Queen size bed, twin daybed with twin trundle and a private bath. The Lake room has five full size beds and a private bath. Come choose your room! Last year we stopped making up beds, to limit exposure. We are continuing that process. Sheets will be folded on each bed for your use. Make up the beds you want to use. Nice shallow swimming area for kids. We have a stone break wall, but there is a hard sandy lake bottom from the dock steps. The large swim-raft is about 100’ beyond the end of the dock. Great for kids and adults. Children should be supervised when in or near the water. Off street parking for all! We have a large driveway with parking for up to eight cars and room for trailers. Only empty trailers may park on the grass, no cars or trucks parked on the grass please. This is a waterfront home with all the benefits of nature, including mosquitoes, come prepared to enjoy the outdoors! Even the best laid plans can change, and that includes trips on VRBO. Given the current Covid-19 pandemic and the potential for for travel restrictions in some states (MI does not currently have any such restrictions), and the unpredictability of travel interruptions, such as, weather, family emergencies, sudden illness, natural disaster, etc., we highly recommend our guests purchase travel insurance to protect their vacation investment.
