The Flat
A unique and historic studio apartment located just above the famous Flatiron Café. Features queen bed, kitchenette, and an outdoor patio in the heart of beautiful Jerome. The Flat is located above the popular Flatiron café in the historic Flatiron Building in the heart of Jerome, Arizona. “Flatiron” refers to the triangular shaped building reminiscent of the old heavy cast iron “flat irons” our grandmothers used to iron clothing. The building has had many incarnations in the past century- first in 1918 as The Arizona Lunchroom with a dentist office above, then a nurse’s station, a market, a bakery, a needlework shop and finally returned to life as a café in the early 1980's as a satellite shop of Macy’s European Coffee House, still located in Flagstaff, AZ. The property features a queen sized bed, kitchenette, TV and wireless internet with views of the Verde Valley and the Mugillon Rim and an outdoor patio to enjoy during your stay. The apartment has one entrance, directly located next to The Flatiron Café. You will be given a super secret code to access a key located within a lock box. There are a few stairs to climb to get to the top of the apartment; the space itself is small, historic, and very unique. We can be directly available for you during café business hours; we will also have our cellphones by our sides if you need anything throughout your stay. We live just moments away from The Flat, and can promise a swift response! We are located in The Flatiron district of Jerome, which is the very beginning of Jerome's business district. The apartment is within walking distance of amazing galleries, artisan shops, restaurants, bars, wine tasting rooms, and historical sites. The apartment is also located in a quieter section of the town; this is unique compared to other rooms in Jerome which are mainly located above bars or historical attractions. Walk Walk Walk! Jerome is tiny and full of nooks and crannies. Park the car, grab a coffee, turn the cell phone off, and forget about time. Jerome is one-of-a-kind, and with that, be prepared for mountain life: businesses open a bit later then usual, businesses close a bit earlier than usual, there are a lot of artists and bizarre characters throughout the town, and you should get dinner before 8:00pm (or else all you may have available are potato chips at the local bar). Depending on when you arrive street parking may be limited, however after 8pm it clears up quickly. During the day it can get warm, but always have something warm for the evening. Cell phone reception and internet tend to move slower, like us.
