There is no television, but guests have satellite internet access plus the popular phone 'hotspots.' The porch has rocking chairs with additional outdoor sitting/dining areas. Light breakfast is provided, plus all-day coffee, team and beverage service are included in the room rate. Private guest bedrooms are located on the second floor, each room with a comfortable queen-sized bed, desk, chair and internet access. Guests share a main first-floor living room, quiet sunrise room overlooking the pond, plus several outdoor areas on the front porch, patio, and other picturesque spots. Guests share the upstairs bathroom (bathtub and shower.) The main downstairs room also has a dorm-sized refrigerator, electric tea kettle, and microwave for guests. There is no general kitchen access. Food is not permitted in the bedrooms. We provide a kind, supportive environment. The house-dogs are a non-allergenic breed. Please, no smoking or drugs. Close to an award-winning gourmet grocery with deli and convenience goods, there is also restaurant home-delivery. Located in a rural village area, this lovely old fashioned home overlooks a large pond, dairy barn, and farmland. Low impact country living with a 40-minute rural-road commute to Baltimore. (I teach at Morgan State University, located within Baltimore's university/hospital cluster that includes Loyola, Johns Hopkins, Towson, and the University of Maryland.) Guest also may request lunch or dinner service for an additional fee. Laundry service can also be provided for a fee. In Maryland but close to the Pennsylvania border, there is no public transportation. It is a pleasant rural commute to Bel Air, Jarrettsville, Towson and Baltimore. There is no public transportation, but we are able to suggest several casual dining spots in nearby villages (Twin Silos, the Manor Tavern, Ladew Gardens, ) and several local beer or vineyard tasting establishments, among others. Saubels Market has a delightful nearby deli, convenience and general store. Close to Peach Bottom and the Cowaninga Dam, and four miles from Fawn Grove, PA (with quaint antique shops, restaurants and home to the straw-bale construction classes by Architect Sigi Koko) the farm is also about an 8-mile commute to BelAir (a serene drive by a running stream with a picturesque bridge) ending at the BelAir shopping and mall complexes. Also close by are state parks, hiking trails, and horseback riding at the Percha riding stables. It is 10 mile-drive from the world-renown Ladew Topiary Gardens (with cafe, art shows, concerts, lectures, and rare plant sales.) Also about a 40-minute commute to Towson and/or downtown Baltimore. Located in Amish farm country, there are interesting sights and travel experiences.
