Active Family Beach Life Paradise - HotTub, Walk to the Beach, 15 minutes to SFO
A perfect home for an active family, 2-3 couples, or for work team off-sites. Offering a peaceful, small beach town atmosphere to spend time relaxing around the house and as a convenient launching pad to explore everything that the SF Bay Area has to offer! Roomy and clean 4 bed, 2 bath home. Large kitchen, family room, and outdoor with hot tub, BBQ, in-and-out audio system with water fountains opens to your BBQ or evening glass of wine. Walking distance to Beach, running trails, biking trails, skate park, great restaurants and beautiful scenic drives. Location is central to the Bay Area with equally easy access to everything the San Mateo coastline has to offer, as well as San Francisco and the Silicon Valley. - 20-minute drive to the San Francisco International Airport - 10-minute drive to the Colma Bart Station - 30-minute drive to Downtown San Francisco, Golden Gate Park, Fisherman’s Wharf, The Golden Gate Bridge and other popular SF attractions - 30-minute drive to Stanford University and the heart of Silicon Valley - 15-minute drive to Half Moon Bay Want to see redwood trees? A one-hour drive takes you south past Half Moon Bay and down a lovely stretch of California Highway 1 to Portola State Park. This park is a secret gem full of day-hiking in the redwood trees away from the crowds. Plenty of excellent dining options are in the neighborhood. Just one block away you will find Beach Monkey Café, serving small batch pour over coffee and fantastic expresso drinks. You can also get your acai bowls, casual lunch and dinner available also. Plenty of taquerias in town, my favorite is called La Playa where you can get a world class margarita and amazing tacos and burritos while watching the game from their sports bar or relaxing on their outdoor patio. A few shops away from La Playa is the Devils Slide Tap Room, with over 40 beers on tap and the best Pickle Brine Chicken Sandwiches you’ll ever taste! For a more upscale experience you don’t want to miss dining overlooking the Pacific Ocean at sunset. There are 3 amazing options here; Puerto 27 serves Modern Peruvian Cuisine in a relaxed upscale environment, it is a 10-minute walk or 3-minute drive, perched overlooking Linda Mar State Beach. I recommend that you get there an hour or two before sunset and take one of the tables on the patio overlooking the beach. My favorite here is the Puerto Clasico Ceviche and the Pescado Macho “Whole Fish”. Moonraker is a 20-minute coastal walk from the house or a 5-minute drive. Located in the cute Rockaway Beach area that is worth checking out for gift shopping, surfer watching, or as a place to hike along the coast from. Moonraker offers fine oceanfront dining, steaks, seafood and more. Happy hour is 4:30-6:30 every day and you won’t be able to get enough of the $1.50 oysters! La Costanera is a 5-minute drive down highway 1 in the next town over, Montara. La Costanera serves contemporary Peruvian cuisine and has been rated with a Michelin star several times. The bar downstairs is more casual and has the same amazing views, Happy Hour is from 5-7 every day and 5-close on Tuesday! Other notes: U.S. Open less than a 10-minute drive, America's Cup a 20-minute drive or 30 minute BART ride. Easy day trips from Wine Country (Napa and Sonoma) to Monterey & Carmel. Pacifica fishing pier (no license required). Short walk to mile long Sharp Park State Beach, Sharp Park Golf Course and Golden Gate National Recreation Area (Mori Point). Beautiful beach boardwalk, pier and harbor, restaurants, fresh fish to bring back, whale watching and deep sea fishing excursions. Kayaking is in the Half Moon Bay Harbor just 6-miles away where you can also paddle board and wind surf. Montara Beach is a long white sand beach with good surfing. Mavericks surf is also very close short drive to Half Moon Bay. Bicycle trails are everywhere including Montara Mountain with many off path trails for biking and horseback riding. Stables are within a few miles, and yes, you can ride your horse down to the beach in Half Moon Bay.
