1850s' Chinese Courtyard in the Mardi Gras House!
If you’re a fan of New Orleans, you’ll love staying in this fantasy oasis in the town where Groundhog Day was filmed. The Mardi Gras House, like the City of Woodstock, is diversity-friendly, welcoming people of all races, nationalities, and sexual orientations. We provide safe space for guests to feel at home while enjoying the beauty of their unique surroundings. Guests often tell us that their stay at the Mardi Gras House turned out to be a significant part of their traveling adventure. The Mardi Gras House dates to 1912 and has been lovingly restored with indoor gaslights and other exquisite architectural details. Rooms include a 1920s French dress shop, 1890s New Orleans brothel and séance room, 1930s Art Deco movie palace, and a railroad-themed jazz lounge. Luxuriate in the 1850s’ Chinese Courtyard with authentic imported Chinese tiles surrounding your queen-sized bed and second “opium” or “wedding” bed and other artifacts from the mid-1800s. Other amenities include a high-end black-and-white marble bath, sauna and spa, gym, bar, and laundry. A fabulous cook’s kitchen awaits you as well, shared by you and your hosts, Craig, Debbie, and Kendri. Be as secluded as you like or join in salon-style conversations with your hosts, their friends, and other guests that run the gamut from “art” to “relationships” to everything else.
