Set in the trees for privacy, yet steps from our private beach, this family cottage has an unparalleled location. With 160 degree views from inside the home and front porch, one cannot find a more perfect spot to enjoy a vacation on Lake Michigan. Our entire cottage, front porch, Barbecue area and private beach will all be yours alone during your stay. Our beach is about 100 yards from the front porch, just down our steps and across the sand; private and close; about 3-4 minutes We will not be on site during your visit but can be reached by phone or text with any questions or concerns that arise before, during or after your stay. Our cottage is in The North Central Beach Association, which focuses on preserving the natural beauty of our area and protecting the sand dunes that front our homes along Lake Michigan. The neighbors are all very kind, but like you, are seeking a place of recluse and peace. You may not even see the neighbors. We all respect each other's property and stay within our own space unless invited. There is no public transportation but one can walk down the beach (about 1-2 miles) to the village of Pentwater. If you are a jogger, you can also jog down the 31 into town, if desired. Otherwise, a car is necessary to access our home. Family gatherings, BBQs, swimming, naps on the beach, walks, sand castle building, forts, collecting driftwood and shells and rocks, fires in our fireplace on chilly evenings, singing, storytelling, games and reading have nurtured our souls and brought our families together. We hope to share this space with others to bring peace to our world. Other notes: *Cell Phone coverage is spotty but we do have a landline from which you can make and receive long distance calls.
