Welcome to Maison Fougere! Come visit our lakefront cottage in the Catskills! 90 minutes from Manhattan! Our waterfront home is located on a private, non-motorized boat lake, ensuring crystal clear waters for swimming in the summer and an icy reflection with gorgeous snow covered grounds in the winter. And fall in the Catskills is of course breathtaking! Outside: 100 feet of private lakefront. Walk down the stairs from either deck to enjoy your own private paradise of crystal clear water. Visit with the geese, enjoy a glass of wine, partake in some catch and release fishing, paddle boat away (provided) and enjoy the Catskills! The decks: Escape the city and spend the warm weather outdoors, even if it’s raining! 1800 feet of finished decks outside- 3 in total: one for propane grilling with potted herbs for you to pick to compliment your recipe, one covered deck for relaxing, dining, watching movies on the projector under the stars, and one covered/screened in deck for evening wine and listening to the bullfrogs and crickets. It’s okay if you fall asleep outside, we understand. In the winter, sit by the fireplace and stare out at the snow globe that this treehouse becomes. Heat lamps provided for the upper deck. Inside: Antiques galore mixed with modern furnishings. If we had to classify, our style is a contradiction of streamlined boho. Think Design Within Reach meets Anthropologie meets your favorite vintage market. The kitchen is pristine, designed with all Viking and Bosch appliances. The cabinets are stocked with every Penzey’s spice you can think of, the full line of KitchenAid mixer attachments (go ahead, make homemade pasta or ice cream) as well as complimentary coffee, tea, cream, sugar, and honey from our family’s apiary (not located on the premises.) The house stays relatively cool from the lake breeze, but comes with two upstairs ceiling fans (bedroom and dining room) and a lower level air conditioner for the master bedroom. Only 90 minutes from Manhattan. Rent a car for the weekend and take in all the distilleries, antique shops, and amazing restaurants in Sullivan County! Full linens, including beach towels, provided.
