This is a Private Guesthouse, "The Cottage at Oakwood Plantation". It is on the left side of the Manor House built in 1780, "Oakwood Plantation". We accept pets. We request a fee of $10/ night for each pet. Airbnb does have a place for adding this nominal fee. Just leave it on the TV Desk. Starting June 1, 2019, we re-decorated: with fresh paint. Main Bedroom: a new Memory Foam queen size mattress. Living room: October 5, 2021, we added a more comfortable Queen Size sofa/ hideaway bed. Full Kitchen with: pots and pans, electric stove, microwave oven, Keurig coffee maker, multiple flavors pods of coffee & fast response electric tea kettle. Breakfast area, living & TV room, private outside deck with table and chairs viewing the backyard trees & nature, rabbits, birds & deer. This is a quiet, safe, and delightfully cute cottage in the town of Bedford. It is close to all shopping, Food Lion, Walmart, CVS Drug Stores, National D-Day Memorial The entire Cottage is yours to enjoy & come and go as you please. Parking is in the main house parking lot. Signs clearly show where to park. The Cottage is only 22 yards from the front door of the cottage. The walkway to the cottage is flat. See the photos. The town of Bedford is very safe. The Cottage and main house is in a quiet & safe, well-lighted neighborhood. The Bedford Memorial Hospital is only 1/2 mile down Oakwood Street. In most situations, I will be available to help and assist during your visit. I can give you some more ideas on upcoming events and places to visit. Oakwood Street is a quiet street in the middle of Bedford. The cottage is 1/2 miles from the Bedford Memorial Hospital. About 1.5 miles to Center of Town, About 4 miles to the National D-Day Memorial. About 25 miles to Liberty University & the University of Lynchburg and Smith Mountain Lake. Bedford is a small town and it is easy to visit by walking or bicycle. Limited traffic in this beautiful historic small Virginia town. Population approximately 6,000.
