Small and charming farmhouse in the Adirondacks with the Jay Covered Bridge and swimming hole just down a walking path, along with basketball and tennis courts. Whiteface Ski Center is 15 minutes away. Sleeps up to 3 couples. The farmhouse is from 1840, one of the last surviving farm houses on the Ausable River. The house is designed to entertain and allow you to enjoy the outdoors. Pets are welcome with an additional fee of $50. The house is on the end of a private road, but the main road is off to the west and you do have some road noise. The house is private but it is not remote nor removed from other people. The farmhouse has a large dining table for 6 people. The kitchen is fully supplied and has another breakfast table for 4 people. The living room has a pull out couch with French doors for privacy. The bedroom downstairs has a full size bed. The upstairs loft area has a king size bed and a second bathroom. The downstairs bathroom has a soaking tub and lots of light. You have the entire house, from the fields with a large fire circle to enjoy the night sky, along the river, the basketball courts, the tennis courts and the swimming hole. The Barn is old.. look but don't enter. Any problems, just a phone call away to fixing anything that needs to be solved. The Adirondacks is the unspoiled park that allows you to unwind without any effort. Whiteface Mountain is 15 minutes away as well as Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing in the trails in the surrounding vicinity. Cycling is a major sport in Jay with all roads having nice shoulders for riding. The Jay Mountain Range has the longest summit trail that goes east to west. You have the entire house, from the fields with a large fire circle to enjoy the night sky, along the river, the basketball courts, the tennis courts and the swimming hole. The Barn is old.. Rte 83 and Rte 9 are easy to get yourself to Lake Placid, Keene or Plattsburgh. The Jay Mountain Range has the longest summit trail that goes east to west. The Ausable River is known to flood so please be aware of the storms moving through the area.
