A little bit country with a modern twist, the newly updated space provides comfortable sleeping for up to five guests with a queen bed, queen sofa, and an extra twin mattress. Has kitchenette, with full kitchen amenities. You will have a private yard (table, chairs, and grill) plus 5 peaceful acres and short hiking trails to explore. Pet friendly for additional fee. Nestled on a quiet road surrounded by beautiful trees, the garden level apartment is located on a 5 acre property in Kent Lakes, with access to countless hiking trails and nearby lakes, and only a short drive away from Fahnestock State Park, Cold Spring, and Beacon. Excellent location whether you are looking for a quiet retreat, an outdoor getaway or need a place to stay for business or local event. The spacious apartment is fully equipped with a kitchenette, fridge, coffee maker, microwave and toaster. There is a kitchen table that sits four comfortably, a living room area for relaxing and playing games, and a separate bedroom with a queen sized bed. Everything you need to make it a home away from home for the weekend, or an extended stay! You will have access to your own parking spot, a private entrance, and a lovely side yard with table, chairs and grill (all to yourself!). Enjoy the trees and fresh air in this private yard or explore the large grassy lawn underneath the towering oaks in the backyard. Feel free to take a little hike in our woods, just past the red barn, down the hill. This is a raised ranch house and we live in the house above the apartment, so we are available should you need any help or have any questions. If we're not home, we're just a phone call away! Historic Kent is a lovely town surrounded by gorgeous lakes where you can hike, fish, canoe, and swim. Many of the lakes are protected, so are maintained serene, clean and peaceful. Much of the land is covered by trees, which is quite a sight! Kent was the home of the brave 16 year-old Sybil Ludington in 1777 who warned American soldiers that the 'British are coming' on a 40-mile horse ride from Carmel to Cold Spring. You can see her statue right in town. The area is very popular for hiking and cycling. The Appalachian trail is less than 10 miles away and Breakneck Ridge is less than 20 miles. We are minutes from the gorgeous 125 acre Chuang Yen Monestary, which is the largest Buddhist monastery in the eastern United States (open seasonally only - check website for dates). We are right in-between the Taconic State Parkway and Interstate 84, and are in the middle of two main roads in town: Rt 52 and RT 301. You'll need wheels to get around, either car or bicycle! If you cycle, be prepared to bike up and down hills as our road is hilly. We're 15 minutes from the Southeast MTA station so if you'd prefer to take the train and bike around, let us know! Taxis and Uber/Lyft to our house is about $25-30. We are also only minutes away from the Putnam Trailway, a paved bike path that connects all the way through Westchester and into New York City. We are pet friendly! Pets are welcome with prior notice. We will request an additional $25 cleaning fee for all reservations that include a pet.
