Washington burb; near Metro/Parking

Available mostly year-round. Both long-term and short stays are welcome. Long-term stays are for one person only or there will be an additional charge for two people over a 7-day stay. In case you are allergic to cats, there are few running around though they do not go in the guest room unless you want them to and only one of them would be mildly interested in getting your attention! I am a musician, lots of fun, and enjoy meeting new folks. I have a cozy private bedroom with a double bed and private entrance in a (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) bungalow in Hyattsville's historic and arts district, which is less than two miles from the D.C. border and within five miles of the University of Maryland College Park, Catholic University, Howard University, Gallaudet University, and Trinity Washington University. Also about 20 minutes from NOAA, NASA, Discovery Communications, Bolling Air Force Base, Washington Navy Yard... It's a 1.3 mile walk/drive from the West Hyattsville metro on the Green Line, which is 1 stop outside of DC (15 minute ride to Gallery Place, 10 minute ride to U Street). A shuttle bus to the metro is just a block from the house, which operates on weekdays. The house is within just a few miles of major thoroughfares such as (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) (to Annapolis), and 295 (to Baltimore); (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) minutes from BWI; (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) minutes to Reagan National Airport, and about an hour from Dulles International Airport. We are about 20 minutes from Union Station. The house is also walking distance to the new Arts District development - Busboys and Poets restaurant and events venue, Yes Organic Market, Tara Thai, Franklin's Brewpub, Vigilante Coffee, Pizza Paradiso, Shortcake Bakery, Chipotle, Elevation Burger, a frozen yogurt place, and a yoga studio. We also back up to Magruder Park, with walking and bike trails connecting to DC. We are within a few miles of the Chocolate City Brewing Company, New Columbia Distillery and Union Market. We are also in the middle of the burgeoning Gateway Arts District, with the Washington Glass School and Studio, Glut Food Co-op, & Joe's Movement Emporium (drop-in yoga!) just a mile away. Parking space available. You'll have access to the first floor which includes the dining room, living room, kitchen and shared bathroom, of course. I like to spend as much time as I can with you or as little time as you like. I do have cats so please note this if you are allergic or not fond of them. They will keep their distance as they are usually afraid of new folks. One of them, Francois, may say hello and is open to head rubs!
