Perfect seasonal retreat/short term furnished rental close to all Berkshire cultural amenities, Jiminy Peak, museums, theatre, dining, shopping & more! 20 min Williamstown, 25 Pittsfield, 30 Albany, 3 hrs or less to NYC or Boston. We’ll share our home, not just another rental, comfortable, clean, cozy. Monthly rates discounted, 3 night min for holidays. Strong WIFI. Reservation requests within 5 days of booking may be declined due to caretaker schedule. Completely restored 1870's country cottage with a full kitchen (only lacking dishwasher), three bedrooms: 1 full bath upstairs and two bedrooms; downstairs one half bathroom and one double bedroom. Comfortably furnished with a nod to the country, American West and the Mohawk Trail, Rt 2. Cotton bedding, down duvets and covers, blankets/quilts available. Cozy woodstove for warmth, huge rear deck in summer to grill (summer) and enjoy the gardens/meadow and hammock. Outdoor summer hot & cold shower and fire pit. Close to downhill and cross country skiing in MA, VT, NY, and all the cultural offerings of the Berkshires, Hudson Valley and Albany. Dryer in basement, walkout to outdoor shower and clothes lines. Plentiful wood supply. This is a special historic home with all the quirks of country living, please respect all furnishings and collections, if you don’t like ‘old’ this may not be for you. Full access to property including perennial gardens, back field and deck. In summer there is a hammock in the back field, mowed path access. Easy walking access to the Black River and miles of back country dirt roads. All with easy access by auto: Berkshires of Massachusetts, Green Mountains of Vermont and the Hudson Valley south, Adirondacks north in New York. No parties or additional overnight guests. Owner available by phone, e-mail, and text. Local Caretaker available for guests and can provide regional info. Owner resides in CA and available for questions. Caretaker available locally. Small rural community adjacent to multiple destinations in New York, Massachusetts, Vermont and Connecticut. Wonderful used book store next door in an old country store. Many country road walks right out the back door, with the Black River to explore all the way to Cherry Plain State Park and it’s swimming lake. Swimming hole next to Town Hall. Rt 22 N/S provide easy access to Berkshires, VT and the MA Turnpike. Amtrak 30 minutes away in Rensselaer, NY; Albany International Airport 50 minutes; Williamstown in 20 minutes, Pittsfield, Lenox all 30 minutes; Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort 7 miles east. We don't control Mother Nature, the cottage is in the country. Please be aware the short driveway and parking area is plowed in the winter, we recommend All Wheel Drive during the snow/ice season. Walkways and driveway can be slippery during inclement winter weather. Original interior staircase is steep. We do not allow large parties, filming projects or additional overnight guests. No portable hot tubs allowed. Do not leave belongings in the basement, during heavy rains the basement gets wet, drain in the floor. In summer the small window and outside door should remain open. Please do not rearrange furnishings.
