The “Heritage Corridor (HC)” runs between Joliet and Chicago Union Station. The HC has limited service to Lockport, and is the only train line that offers service to the Lockport Station. This train leaves Joliet and stops at the Lockport Station just a couple if times in the morning and a couple of times in the early evening. The “Rock Island District (RI)” runs between Joliet and Chicago LaSalle Street station. Near us the RI line has stations in Joliet and New Lenox. These stations are both a short driving distance and the trains that leave and return to these 2 locations offer more leave and return times. *While the New Lenox maybe a few minutes further away it has more convenient parking. There is a fee to park there which is $1.50. Also, to ride the RI train from New Lenox to Chicago maybe cheaper then riding the RI train from Joliet to Chicago. Depending on your schedule you might want to leave for the city on the HC line from Lockport and return back on the HC line to Joliet, then take an Uber back to the Lockport Hamilton House Hideaway…. Or you could leave from Lockport on the HC and return on the RI line (again arriving in Joliet), and take an Uber back to the Hideaway.
