Another great property managed by Lake James Rentals. This new home (built in 2016) invites you to your own private waterfront playground! Wake up to the sounds of Dales Creek running by the house, then take your coffee with you just a few steps down to the waterfront to enjoy the sunrise. What might your day hold? Cast a line from the bank of the secluded cove, enjoy a meal at the picnic pavilion overlooking pristine Lake James, or just spend the day paddling around the 7,000 acre lake enjoying panoramic views of Southern Appalachia: the South Mountains to the south, the Black Mountain Range to the west, and the Blue Ridge, Grandfather Mountain, Dobson’s Knob, and Linville Gorge to the north. Bring everyone together as the sun sets to enjoy the cool of the evening around the campfire before retiring to any of three bedrooms in this spacious beach-style home. Or maybe you would prefer to drift off to sleep on the screened outdoor sleeping porch to the sounds of creek and crickets, frogs and cicadas. This 1650 square foot home comfortably sleeps six people in three bedrooms, with additional sleeping space between the hand-crafted futon in the open loft and the daybed on the screened sleeping porch. There are two full bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen that will provide you with all the comforts of home. The eat-in kitchen provides seating for six. The home boasts beautiful hardwood floors and ceramic tile throughout, with washer and dryer, dishwasher, and wireless Internet. Enjoy plenty of additional outdoor living and dining space: there are the two spacious 8’X32’ porches (one with a picnic table), an 8’X16’ sundeck, an outdoor shower, and a private 200 square foot covered pavilion with a large picnic table. This home is located on a level lot at the back of a quiet cove with beautiful long-range views of the lake. No steep sidewalks or stairs to get down to the waterfront, and the swimming area has river rock and hard packed sand. A large mountain creek meanders through the property alongside the house and flows into Lake James. Children will have a blast exploring the rocky shores, panning for gold, splashing in the water, traversing the log footbridge, or just creating hours of their own adventures along the shallow shoreline. A large canoe and two kayaks are provided for exploring the lake, Big Island, and dozens of big and little coves. There is plenty of room on this wooded four-acre lot for parking vehicles, boats, and trailers, and the public boat ramp and Bear Creek Marina and restaurant are only two miles away. PLEASE NOTE: This is a family-friendly destination, and we do not rent to large non-family groups including but not limited to fraternities, house parties, wedding receptions, school groups, or other similar organizations. We do not allow occupancy by more than eight people. The primary renter must be at least 25 years old. No smoking indoors and no pets are allowed.
