The Guest House is a sparkling clean and very charming 2 bedroom with 2 queen beds, sleeps 4. Furnished with antiques and decorated with original local artwork. Designed with guests in mind, we supply LOTS of extras to make your stay easy and memorable. Please keep in mind we have a NO ANIMALS or smoking policy, and no more than 4 guests here at one time. WHAT TO DO HERE? Very pretty 3.5 mile walk (or bring bikes) around Lake Algonquin. Swim, fish, hike, explore some great local waterfalls, kayak rentals nearby. Within a one hour drive you can visit Lake George, Blue Mountain Lake, Great Sacandaga Lake, Piseco Lake, Lake Pleasant, Indian Lake and Saratoga Springs. UPSTAIRS: 2 bedrooms, each with one queen bed, full bath with tub and shower. DOWNSTAIRS: open floor plan. Sliding glass doors open to a large screened in porch. Full kitchen, living and dining areas with large flat screen TV with Netflix. No cable here. OUTSIDE: charcoal grill, large screened in porch, a couple Adirondack chairs. We supply exceptional linens and towels and LOTS of extras (napkins, foil, plastic wrap, spices, sugar...) so you can just pack a bag and go! NEIGHBORHOOD: The Guest House is in the town of Wells, within walking distance to the lake, town beach, convenience store, ice cream shop, churches, tennis, basketball courts and an outdoor skating rink. Very easy to get to. If you are looking for secluded, this is not it. If you are looking for convenience and comfort, you will be very happy here. WINTER: Check out Lapland Lake (world class xcountry skiing!), Oak Mt (family friendly, cheap and fun downhill ski mt) and Gore (amazing downhill skiing). Snowmobile rentals in Speculator. We supply 4 sets of snowshoes and a full list of great winter hikes. The lake is one block away, has ice car races on occasion, GREAT fun to watch! SUMMER: kayaking, hiking, bbqing, antiqueing, walking, waterfalls, swimming in the lake, walking to ice cream and the beach, exploring surrounding towns are all a part of the summer fun here. PLEASE NOTE: - This town has Verizon only cell service, no land line in house. Use the wifi enable feature on your phone to make calls if you do not have Verizon, otherwise internet is your only way to communicate with the outside world so please be aware. - There is no washer/dryer here, but there is one in town. No cable, yes Netflix. - We have an exterior security camera facing the driveway.
