Elena's by the Mill is perfectly situated near restaurants, venues and activities. Only a short walk to the popular Hanford Mills Museum and 13.9 miles to the All Star Village in Oneonta, this 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home has an open living plan, large back deck, expansive lawn with pond and stream. A historic rail road track runs past the backyard, the perfect place for jogging, nature walks, biking or winter snowshoeing. Dogs may be considered, provide age and breed. Max 2 dogs, additional pet fee applies. Kitchen: Fully equipped eat-in kitchen with all necessary appliances and cookware - ideal for the serious cook and those cooking for groups. Plenty of space in the kitchen for multiple people to gather together or prepare meals. Dining Area: Besides the kitchen eating area there is an elegant formal dining table in the open concept living area. The dining room table comfortably seats 6 people with additional chairs in the kitchen as needed. Living Room: The living room is located just off the kitchen. The front of the room has a large window overlooking the front yard and stream, the back of the room in the dining area looks out onto the back deck. A comfortable couch and lounging chairs are the perfect spot to read a book or relax after a long day enjoying the countryside. Den: Just off the living area is a cozy den that looks over the side lawn with pond. Carefully appointed with an electric fireplace, leather sofa, flat screen Apple TV and desk area make this room a relaxing spot for movies, working or taking an afternoon siesta. Bathrooms: There is a bathroom with walk in shower located between the kitchen and den. The master bedroom has a bathroom with large walk in shower. A half bathroom is upstairs in the suite. Bedrooms: There are two bedrooms on the main floor, each with a queen sized bed. The master bedroom is in the front of the house and has its own bathroom, closet and dresser. The other bedroom faces the back of the house and has a dresser, desk and closet. Down a short hallway and up a small flight of stairs is the suite with a half bathroom and queen sized bed. This room also offers a small kitchenette. Two air mattress are provided for additional guests and would comfortably fit in the suite.. We provide all the linens, pillows, blanket and towels you will need for your stay except for beach towels. Laundry: A washer and dryer are available for guests to use during their stay. Outdoor areas: The large back deck has outdoor furniture including a dining table and a BBQ. There is also a front porch with seating that looks out at the stream that flows past the house. Lawn: Large and relatively flat, the lawn has plenty of shade for warm days. Plenty of room for lawn games year round! The frog pond is spring fed, it doesn't freeze solid in the winter so no ice skating, in the summer water the fish jump and listen to the frogs sing. Children can bring nets and catch frogs and salamanders all day! Within 10 minutes you are in the city of Oneonta - with shops, restaurants, mall and movie theatre. Next door to Elena's is one of the last 19th century mills to survive intact - Hanford Mills Museum. Here you can see a working mill waterwheel, a blacksmith forge and a gift shop with mill-made products and toys. The Adirondack Trailways System does go to Oneonta and Delhi but a vehicle is necessary for getting around. In the winter time the area does get snow. If you are unfamiliar with driving in snow, and driving on hills in snow, search tips on popular sites like AAA. Stays 7 days or more have an additional cleaning fee. Guests are provided with a starter supply of toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, soap, shampoo, dishwasher detergent, dish soap, laundry soap, propane, cleaning supplies. When the provided supply is gone guests should purchase what they need for the remainder of their stay.
