As you pass through the stone pillars and drive up the winding rhododendron-lined driveway you will be transported into the by-gone era of the early 1900s when travelers sought solace in the mountain retreats of North Carolina. This renovated cottage is attractively decorated and tucked away on a private 12-acre estate in Laurel Park dating from the early 1900s. Only 1 ½ miles from downtown, you will be minutes from the shops and restaurants of Hendersonville and Flat Rock, yet have the privacy of this comfortable retreat. Enjoy the mountain views and acres of attractively landscaped gardens featuring mountain laurel, hydrangeas, rhododendron, azaleas and peonies. From your cottage, take a short stroll on well-maintained walking trails to a pretty neighborhood stream or a scenic pond. The cottage has heart pine floors and paneling making a very cozy retreat. The sunroom has views of the gardens on three sides and a brick wood burning fireplace to take the chill off late fall evenings. There are two bedrooms and a shared bath. The master bedroom has a queen size bed with a down comforter. The second bedroom has a single bed. The cottage is located just 18 miles south of Asheville. It is a short drive if you want to spend a day exploring the Biltmore House and grounds or the shops of Biltmore Village. You will be close to Dupont State Forest which boasts a number of beautiful waterfalls as well as various hiking and biking trails. Whether you want to spend the day fly fishing on the Davidson River in Pisgah National Forest, take a picnic and drive up to the Blue Ridge Parkway, or go to a play at the Flat Rock Playhouse, your hosts will be happy to advise you. We do not allow smoking or pets on the property. Keywords: Cottage
