Weekly or seasonal rental, 'Relaxation 101' is a a spacious 3 bedroom, 3 full bath home on Palm Island overlooking beautiful Bocilla Lagoon. Just steps to the beach (10 houses away), our home also offers a boat dock in the event you’d like to come by boat, or rent a boat while you’re here. It’s the best of both worlds!! There's only one bridge to open water. Contact me about the clearance height. At "Manatee" speed, it's less than 5 minutes to open water and Lemon Bay. The house is situated on a double lot which ensures your privacy and includes an enormous private resort style pool with a tiki bar, a screened-in lanai and a hot tub! The pool and docks are fenced-in for the safety and security of your loved ones. The pool can be heated in the winter for a fee of $50 per day. This house is one of 6 original homes on the island and one of few that are at ground level with one living floor. Most homes are built 15-17 feet above sea level and have steep stairs which makes it somewhat cumbersome to carry your luggage and groceries into the house, dine outside or just run into the kitchen for that Pina Colada refresher! At Relaxation 101 our ground level home makes dining al fresco a breeze! not to mention how much easier it is for those who find it difficult to navigate stairs. Inside has an open, airy floor plan accentuated with vaulted ceilings, a stunning coral rock fire place in the main living area, double master suites, a large open kitchen, and a dining/living area that opens to the back deck and intricate waterway. The location of our home is one of the best on the Island, at the mouth of the Bocilla Lagoon, where the constant tidal flow makes for year round crystal clear water teeming with Snook, Trout, Redfish, Snapper & Grouper. Best fishing on the island right off your dock! Dolphins and Manatees love swimming in the lagoon as well! Kayaks, canoes, motor boats, paddle boards, bikes and golf carts are all available for rent on the island. And if you want to hire a captain to take you fishing or on a sunset cruise he/she can pick you up and drop you off right from our dock! Palm Island is a barrier island, 7 miles long between Sarasota and Ft. Myers on Florida's Gulf Coast. Sugar sand beaches, beautiful harbors & lagoons and great fishing & shelling are accessed by a 2 minute car ferry or private boat ride. Ferry rates and schedules can be found at www.palmislandtransit.com. With unpaved sandy roads and a relaxed 'Old Florida' atmosphere, our beaches are some of the most pristine and quiet in all of coastal Florida. There are no high rises blocking your gulf views. There's one bar/restaurant on the island, Rum Bay, which serves lunch and dinner daily from 11:30am to midnight. Make sure you note flight times when making your reservation! Due to ferry schedules an early flight may mean checking out a day earlier and staying at a hotel by the airport the night before.
