Located in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia near Lost River Valley's rolling green hills, clear streams, and wooded country roads. Hike or horseback ride in the nearby Lost River State Park or visit the George Washington National Forest and explore or fish Trout Pond or hike to the Big Schloss scenic overlook. Day trip to Blackwater Falls, Dolly Sods, or the Canaan Valley. Enjoy a gourmet meal at the Guest House at Lost River ten minutes away, grab lunch at the popular General Store, or visit the seasonal farmers market on Saturday mornings for delicious local produce and baked goods. No visit to Lost River would be complete without stopping in Wardensville at the Lost River Trading Post, a modern mountain general store with locally made crafts. While in town, stop at the Wardensville Farmers Market Bakery for fresh baked bread or sandwiches. Four-wheel drive is recommended in the winter.
