Lake Norris TN waterfront retreat

Welcome to our floating cottage located at Hickory Star Marina in Maynardville TN. Our cottage is anchored out in the water so you must have a boat, raft, canoe, or jet ski to get to it. It’s a perfect place to get away from it all and decompress. Bed accommodations include two bunk beds and one couch. Kitchenette is furnished with propane stove and microwave. Propane grill on the floating deck is available. Running water from the lake used for all sinks and shower. Nice simple clean place We have a gas can on site which can be filled at the marina to run the portable generator. Window placed AC only operates when the generator is turned on. A stand up fan will circulate the air through the boathouse quite nicely. You must bring your own towels. Beds have mattress covers, pillow with cover and simple bed spread. We do not have a refrigerator on the boat, so you may want to bring good coolers. Ice can be purchased at the marina. Water level is pretty deep around the house, so you must bring your own life jackets. Paddle boat and kayak are on site for your enjoyment. If you love camping this is the place for you. If bugs bother you and you’re not use to being out in the wilderness, well you may want to rethink this option. Basic necessities such as dish soap, toilet paper, & paper towels are provided. You may want to bring extra paper plates. Lake water from the sinks are not suitable for drinking. Please bring your own bottled water. Shower water is directly from the lake, so it may emit a well water type odor. Also the shower does not have hot water. Water temp will vary from the beginning of the season to the end of the season. Our little houseboat is a perfect getaway for those wanting some rest and relaxation. Nothing like waking up with a cup of coffee in hand and seeing the sunrise in the morning on the lake. For safety reasons please do not climb the rear ladder onto the roof. Jumping off the roof into the water is dangerous and you can get injured which would ruin your vacation. We sincerely appreciate if you honor our policy. Thank you. We have our personal house boat nearby and will be available should you need anything. Although there is a ladder, please do not climb it and get on the roof. For safety reasons climbing on the roof to dive off is not permitted. We would sincerely appreciate you not even attempting to go on the roof.
