Cottage by the Sea! Come enjoy the best of Kittery Point including views of Pepperrell Cove lighthouse, an 11-minute drive into Portsmouth, walking distance to historical Fort McCleary, The Wharf outdoor bar, Bistro 1838, and the town docks. Just around the corner from the famous Chauncy Creek Lobster Pier. We are a 5-minute drive to the naval base or Seapoint Beach, and an 8-minute drive to the famous Kittery Outlets. Enjoy the crystal-clean hot tub outside your entrance on a private patio. This charming Maine location has a prime central location and amenities that you will remember for years. The apartment is a space in a private home, accessible via your own private walkway, patio, and entrance. You have a dedicated space with outdoor dining, access to the hot tub right out your apartment door, a large, comfortable bedroom/living room area, a well-appointed kitchenette, table, and a large upscale, and brand new bathroom with a walk-in shower. The apartment has a very high-quality queen bed plus a single daybed. There is a room separator to offer privacy for two parties. We use high-thread-count linens, down comforters in winter, or 100% cotton bedding in summer. This is a privately owned home, so get ready for lots of unique, comfortable, feet-up charm. Please be sure you understand the apartment you are renting. This is a charming, uniquely designed space (not a Florida-type condo with generic furniture and antiseptic amenities). It's a 5-minute drive to a sandy beach. The happiest guests to stay here are unassuming, joyful people who look for things to love, like sipping coffee in the hot tub, grilling, and cooking, touring Portsmouth, discovering world-class oceanfront restaurants, walking to historic sites, driving along rocky coasts, swimming in the creek, and living with wildly fluctuating temperatures (viva New England!). The apartment is located across from Pepperrell Cove overlooking Portsmouth Harbor, and walking distance to the Kittery Point town wharf where there is an open-air bar, a wonderful restaurant, a function hall, and an upstairs bar with amazing views of the sunsets. COOKING AND THE KITCHEN The kitchenette is basic but has everything you need for cooking a meal. There is a small oven, single cooktop, a toaster, kettle, microwave, griddle, waffle maker, rice maker, the outdoor grill, and all the cookware, pots and pans, and utensils you need including a cast iron pan. There is both a drip and a press coffee maker, of course. There are condiment basics in the kitchen too, so help yourself. There are all the plates, bowls, cups, wine glasses, silverware, measuring cups, cooking bowls, etc. that you will ever need to make a nice meal. This is not an antiseptic hotel room; so make yourselves at home and use whatever you need. Think charming cottage when making a meal. There is a small but full-sized refrigerator for your use too. The host lives upstairs and is available to help or answer questions. (I mostly just stay out of your way. You may never see me.). The house is within walking distance to the Naval base and just steps from famous Chauncey Creek and Fort McCleary, it's a 6-minute drive to a sandy beach and an 8-minute drive to the Kittery Malls. The house is nestled between views of our lighthouse in the Harbour out the front and two classic New England barns in a grassy field out the back doors. This household is not a dog-friendly environment. Emotional support animals are NOT possible, sorry. Kittery License # ABNB-21-26 Space for one car next to the telephone pole with a canoe paddle and the number 115 on it. Then walk down the LEFT side of the house on the stone pathway, under the archway. I live in the house above and will be available for questions but mostly I just stay out of your way and give you privacy. Ocean views out the front of that house; historic and classic Maine barns out the back. This is a quiet private neighborhood along a scenic winding coastal roadway with spectacular ocean views. Guests can walk to the town wharf, Pepperrell Cove restaurants, and bars, or the historic Fort McCleary. Enjoy spectacular sunset views! Or, jump in the car, and in just a few minutes you are in hip Kittery Foreside with many more high-rated restaurants or drive just over the bridge and enjoy downtown Portsmouth, NH, or go a few minutes north and you are in the famous town of York Maine with beautiful sandy beaches and the popular Nubble lighthouse. Walk or drive to Chauncey Creek Lobster Pound, a quick 2-mile drive to Fort Foster or Seapoint sandy beaches, or hike the Rachel Carson nature preserve. This area is the best of historic Maine combined with the Seacoast of New Hampshire. You will have an endless number of things to do in this central location. Bring your bikes (or borrow ours) and you can get almost everywhere. Your car might be best to explore Portsmouth and sandy Seapoint or York beach, but your 2 feet or a bike will get you lots of great places from this house. There is very little parking at the house, and I ask guests to limit to one car. If that is an issue for you, let me know and I can help with an extra spot. Please plan to use the hot tub before 10 p.m.
