The Pink Cottage on beautiful Damariscotta Lake
What could be more relaxing than working remotely at the Pink Cottage on Damariscotta Lake for a few days? A perfect time to take advantage of the peace and quiet of lakeside living while still getting your work done. The foliage is beautiful in October and early November. The cottage has fast wireless internet(109-115 Mpbs). Some phones don’t do that well under the hill so you may have to move to the top of the hill. Our sunroom looks out across the lawn and on to the lake where you can catch a glimpse of one of our resident eagles as well as loons and osprey. Keep your eyes out for fish jumping out by the marker. Large and small mouth bass are plentiful on Damariscotta Lake. Bring your fishing poles, just remember to get a license. As winter approaches, the lake has a whole new look. The ice forms across the beach and makes for a beautiful place to skate or ice fish. There are still hiking trails open plus Camden Snow Bowl has a nice little ski slope a few miles away. The Pink Cottage is a great place to relax and enjoy the lake, wildlife and lovely sunrises. The cottage accommodates 6 people in 2 bedrooms and a loft which has limited headroom (5 feet, best for kids or sleeping). One first floor bed room has a queen bed and the other has two twins. The loft has two twin size beds. The loft is closed off between November and April, therefore only four people. The cottage has an antenna for local tv and a Rocu streaming device. Bring your password/pin with you so you can login. An enclosed sun-room overlooking the lake, a fully equipped kitchen with a new dishwasher, a living/dining room and a newly renovated bathroom with shower finish out the first floor. There's a large deck, expansive lawn and a huge stone fire pit with wood supplied. We supply a canoe and three kayaks, two sit upon and one sit in. It will be too cold for these to be used before long. A public boat landing is just up the road so you can launch your boat from there and tie it up to our private dock. Our favorite thing to do is have our coffee out on the deck in the morning and watch the lake come to life. During the day when the sun is bright and you’re not out exploring you can take a break in the hammock or in the hammock chair which is hanging lakeside. The area has wonderful hiking trails. About 8 miles away is the town of Damariscotta. There you can find grocery stores, a large health food store, a bookstore, many wonderful restaurants, lots of galleries, gift shops and, of course, Reny's and Round Top Ice Cream (closes in October). There is a top notch library and YMCA if you need to get some extra exercise. Please adhere to the Covid 19 guidelines for the state of Maine. It helps to keep us safe. Thanks
