Charming Pond View House in Old Chatham
Sweet retreat perfectly located for exploring Columbia County, the Berkshires or simply lazing on the lawn with a lemonade and a good book. Totally renovated in 2019, the cottage has an open layout with kitchen, living room, dining area and 2 bedrooms. It's set in a sunny, open meadow surrounded by woods with views of the Berkshire mountains. Walk down a grassy path to a swimmable pond complete with an ancient dock. For hiking, there's a spectacular conservation area just a mile down the road. The kitchen is designed for people who love to cook with all new appliances including dishwasher, stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker. Central AC and heat, W/D, WiFi and TV with an Amazon Firestick. Feel free to walk anywhere on the 9-acre grounds. We live in the Main House up the dirt road at Raccoon Forks. We come on weekends so you probably won't see us. As your hosts, we believe it’s important to be readily available via phone, text or email should you have questions. If you don’t reach us immediately, we’ll get back to you within minutes. Though we live in New York City, we have a local caretaker who can make a house call if you need in-person help. Peace and quiet on 9 acres. Beautiful surroundings including a pond and view of the Berkshires. Easy access to a host of cultural activities - Tanglewood, Williamstown, Olana, Edith Wharton's The Mount, and The Clark Art Museum. A half hour to skiing at Jiminy Peak. Fabulous restaurants, galleries and shopping abound in nearby Hudson. Best to get around by car. If you take Amtrak to Hudson NY you can rent a car from Enterprise. Albany International Airport is a half hour away. Taxis, Uber and Lyft are readily available. Wifi is via a VERIZON JETPACK. Password is cf4e819e. TV works thru the Amazon FIRESTICK.
