The Carriage House dates from the 1920’s and features a bedroom with an antique four-poster bed, full bathroom with old-fashioned pedestal tub and shower, beautifully updated kitchen, a private screened-in porch with a gorgeous view of Zen Gardens and much more! The charm and grace of this intimate cottage is lovely. The vibrant décor blends past and present with unique elegance. You can easily imagine a tasseled buggy pulling up as you enjoy the pleasure of modern conveniences. The year round natural beauty framing our adorable Carriage House is unparalleled in Winchester. More than two acres of exquisite Zen Gardens are just a few steps away. Guests love spending time on our screened in porch, taking in a view that brings the blooms of the season to your doorstep as you sip your morning coffee in fresh robes that we provide for every guest. Intimate winding paths lead to even more fragrant arrays of wild and delicately nurtured blossoms and plants. In truth, the photographs of the Gardens on this site, simply don’t do it justice. It is a one-of-a-kind experience. Our organic herbal and veggie garden – where guests are welcome to choose fresh herbs for their dining pleasure – offers another special treat. Organic soap made from herbs is made on the premises by Ramana to enhance your time here. We have an outdoor fire pit area, ideal for star gazing that just can’t be appreciated in the downtown lights. With a a warm mug of Organic coffee or tea while listening to the soft sounds of the season, lifetime memories with that special someone are created. We also welcome business travelers wanting more than an efficiency apartment as well as lone adventurers. Every time of the year is special in this sanctuary from the busy world. Our dedication to preserving nature is reflected in our certification as a Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation since 2007. You may share a morning watching jewel- like hummingbirds or catch a glimpse of a curious red fox. Your hosts, Ramana and John, live on-site and will gladly share what makes this place special upon arrival. Ramana has been a natural healer for decades and has invested herself in the design of this setting to renew body and spirit. Just Like Heaven Carriage House is accessed from a long, secluded driveway with private parking and motion sensors. Your key will be given to you upon arrival when Ramana greets you. Guests are welcome to enjoy all of our tranquil and peaceful grounds. When you enter the premises, Ramana will be there to welcome you and give you a brief tour of the garden paths, the fire pit and all other features and amenities. We live on the estate, so if there's any need on your part we will respond immediately. At the same time, you will not be disturbed in any way. We are located in a quiet neighborhood with homes built in an area where respecting all neighbors is paramount. However, the minute you enter our hedge framed secluded entry way, you will see why the grounds and guest residences are a peaceful sanctuary. We are near a bus stop that will take you directly to the heart of Winchester, the cobblestone Old Mall. As the Carriage House nears its Centennial Anniversary, it has been enhanced to make it that much more special. From the moment you enter the plush parlor, sink into an oversize chair, you can flip through a binder of recommendations made by a couple who have lived here for many years. Over 30 great restaurants featuring outdoor dining of international and local cuisines are a short hop away -- for fresh bagels, Steamy’s take-out is a must! Dozens of quaint specialty shops as well as the apricot limned sunsets of the Blue Ridge are all within easy driving distance.
