Newly renovated and tucked away on 13 private acres, surrounded by trees and a sense of calm added by the sound of a waterfall. This is the perfect to escape for a relaxing getaway, or to come and be inspired. Hiking trails, wineries, and distilleries all within a short drive. Right down the street from the Forestburgh Playhouse! Lots of things to do in the area if that's what you're looking for, or just chill out by the fire and soak in the nature filled scenery. The perfect escape. A modern interior juxtaposed against the wilderness, our carriage house is the perfect place to get away and relax. The first bedroom has a king sized bed. The second, a queen sized bed. And the sofa in the lounge area contains a very comfortable queen sized mattress. (It feels like an actual bed mattress.) Set amongst 13 private acres, the property includes an open area next to the house with a fire pit, BBQ, outdoor furniture, walkable (or runnable) gravel road throughout, and even a mini barn that gives it a country feel. The house has in-floor radiant heat controlled with a Nest thermostat and we can easily have the house nice and warm for you when you arrive. And if it gets too toasty, you can easily open up a couple of windows to cool it down, or turn on the AC located in the bedroom. It is also stocked with conveniences and amenities such as great Wi-Fi, a First-Aid Kit, bath and body wash, Keurig compatible coffee machine, dishwasher and microwave. The full kitchen has a gas range and dishwasher. Also, for security reasons, please note that there are three security cameras located outside the house pointed at the entry vicinity (front door, above the garage, and next to the wood shed.) In the winter, we recommend a 4WD vehicle in case it snows. There is a 3 night minimum for Christmas, New Years and all other long weekend holidays. Forestburgh is tucked 20-30 minutes between larger towns such as Monticello, Bethel and Port Jervis. Access to many lakes, fishing, and hiking trails. We are one block away from the Forestburgh Playhouse, and a short drive to wineries and distilleries in the surrounding area. Forestburgh General is minutes away and has most last minute needs, including a deli. Dogs under 50lbs. are allowed on a case by case basis and require a fee per dog per stay. For dogs up to 25lbs. the fee is $50. For dogs 26-50lbs the fee is $75. We ask that they are not left alone in the house and crated if and when possible. For infants under 2 years, please note that there is no baby gate at the top of the stairs. If you are okay with this then so are we, but we ask that you take responsibility for ensuring your child’s safety. A high chair is available. AWD SUVs or 4x4 is recommended in the winter, especially if there is going to be snow. The driveway is up a hill and may be difficult to get up in after heavy snowfall. We ensure that a thorough cleaning, including disinfecting takes place before you arrive. We hold our cleaners to the highest standards in order to assure your safety during these times.
