FIREFLY LODGE! A BEAUTIFUL COTTAGE ON THE LAKE. Our lake side cottage offers you a magical Adirondack experience. Located on the tip of Mountain Lake, our cottage has the seclusion and natural beauty that you can only find in the native woodlands of our southern Adirondack Mountains. Wake up to see the sun rise over our 44 acre lake. Have a cup of coffee and unwind to the songs of the loons as the sun shimmers over the length of the lake. Swim, boat, fish, hike, golf. A Perfect Vacation Our beautiful lakeside rustic cottage is newly renovated and is ready to rent for your 2022 summer vacation. Firefly Lodge, is located directly on Mountain Lake , and has SPECTACULAR LAKE VIEWS. You will have a beautiful Adirondack experience, with a little bit of luxury. We ask for a Saturday to Saturday minimum weekly rental in intervals of 7 days. While we have weekly stays from Memorial Day to Labor Day , please contact us for shorter 4 night stays during May, September and October. Under special circumstances, we will rent for 11 days when available or shorter periods of time in May , September and October. (If you would like to request a shorter stay of 4 nights or more for the months during fall foliage September and October, or for summer May rentals, please message us with your request. ) FIREFLY is a cozy cottage on a dead end road that will offer you a magical Adirondack lakeside experience. Firefly sits on the tip of a level sunny grassy peninsula on a 44 acre lake called , Mountain Lake; A beautiful serene lake where you can swim, fish, canoe, kayak, or paddle boat. Our cottage is directly on this beautiful lake. Walk out the door and stroll down to the dock. We can supply you with two kayaks and a canoe, at no extra charge, or you can bring your own boating toys. Our hammock and dock chairs will assure you of a complete lake experience that will be memorable in all ways. You will be awed by our amazing sunrises and magical sunsets. We will supply you with everything needed for an amazing lakeside get-away. fire pit, grill, pots, pans, TV and internet. This unique lodge is one of the original cabins built in 1880. We have added many modern touches, such as the cathedral bedroom ceilings, which overlook the lake, new bathrooms and a new kitchen with a dishwasher. Yippee. But…our cabin still reflects its original Adirondack charm. The screened in large porch , overlooking the lake, is perfect for a romantic dinner or for family gatherings. The sunsets over the lake are amazing. Our master lakefront bedroom has a queen and a full size bed. Our lake view guest bedroom has a handmade Adirondack Amish queen size bed. Our lake view children’s room, has a twin day bed, a full size bottom bed and twin top bunk bed. Our second upstairs full bathroom has a awesome underwater theme and dolphin shower mural. Our renovated kitchen offers you a vintage stove, farm sink, new refrigerator , dishwasher mr coffee maker , microwave ,toaster and two sets of dishes snd service for 12 silverware. Pots pans, knifes and cooking essentials are provided. Our downstairs luxury bathroom will be a surprise. With a black , white and gold slipper claw foot bath tub, you will have an amazing view of the lake while relaxing in the tub. You can stretch out on the living room sofa, or recline on the other sofa. Our little game nook is perfect for family fun game nights. Our TV is located in the game area and can be pulled out to watch while relaxing on the couch. Firefly is not a large cottage but it is a cottage with a prime lake front view sitting on a grassy, double, lake front lot. Perfect for volleyball or grassy games. We have a large new dock perfect for fishing and your outdoor water sports. The Mountain Lake activities center around the water and we have a beautiful view of the whole lake. The level grounds make easy access to the lake, offering a perfect vacation for our older guests. Happily, Firefly is pet friendly. Small dogs under 35 pounds are welcome at $150 extra per dog for the week. Let us know if you plan to bring your pet so we can welcome your pet with a doggie treat. Please, Only dogs that are friendly and non aggressive. Dogs must be on a leash outside the cottage or restricted to the property boundaries. Proof of rabies shots must be sent prior to arrival. We will provide the bedding and pillows. You will need to provide your own sheets and towels. Important.. Our Mountain Lake is spring fed, but since we use lake water, we ask that you bring your own water to drink. You can also take a short ride to our mountain fed fresh water supply line to gather jugs of Adirondack fresh water. This fresh water is Mountain MAGIC . We will also supply you with a lovely counter top water jug containing 5 gallons of fresh water that you can refill at the mountain stream for free, or refill it at price chopper for $4.99. “ Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but those moments and memories that take your breath away”. Make Firefly Lodge your next magical adventure. Linda and Steve Guests can use the entire house, all the water toys, the dock, and the entire Mountain Lake. Bring your own kayak or canoe if you like as well. If you use our water toys, we do not require any additional rental fees. However, we will require that you sign our safety waiver and to wear life jackets whenever you are on the lake. We have a house across the lake and will be available to answer any questions but we will not invade your privacy. WE are located in Gloversville NY a quiet area of the Adirondacks, where you will find the beautiful area of Mountain Lake. We are in southern section of the 6 million acre Adirondack State Park. Located just 30 minutes from the NYS Thruway, you are near EVERYTHING and far enough away from EVERYTHING. A footpath circles the lake edge or hike on the many trails nearby. There are many golf courses nearby as well as restaurants, bars and shopping malls. A 40 minute ride will bring you to Lake George, with the Great Escape water park,Saratoga Springs with its many cultural events, Cooperstown ( Baseball Hall of Fame) Blue Mountain Lake and its Adirondack Museum, Speculator and the beautiful lakes of Lake Pleasant, Oxbow lake and Piseco Lake. We are close to the Great Sacandaga, Caroga Lake, Peck Lake, and Canada Lake. There are supermarkets nearby to stock up on anything you have forgotten. BUT.. Why leave the area when you are already in paradise.? You will need a car to get around. Bikes are also fun and you can bike the 5 mile bike rail trail in Gloverville. But who would want to leave FIREFLY? Most guests prefer to just travel around our beautiful lake by boat. Please arrive before dark and bring a flashlight. We use lake water ( mountain lake is fed by natural mountain springs but..) … bring your own drinking water supply or visit our nearby mountain stream for magical fresh mountsin water.
